#fiercefeb #meandagun. I read this book last year and it was full of violence against women. I definitely thought those poor women needed a gun for protection.

#meandagun #fiercefeb usually wouldn‘t pick an old comic but I like the fact that even though this book dates from the fifties,the woman is holding the gun.
Most women portrayed on comics of old , they are the hostage or victim, gun trained on them.But then her name is Julep , all bets are off.

Loved this book about the very early days of a form of policing, not sure why I haven‘t got back to the series. If you like historical fiction I heartily recommend it. When I thought of a gun, #MeAndAGun , I thought of this cover. #fiercefeb

Woman with a Gun: A Novel | Phillip Margolin

#FierceFeb #MeAndAGun Today's prompt made me think of this Phillip Margolin book I reviewed a few years ago. Inspired by an actual photo that Margolin saw in a Georgia diner-finding it intriguing, he bought it & imagined a story around it. The book intersects three stories, set fifteen years apart around an award-winning photo. More of a quieter suspense is built in this one but I enjoyed it & its setting in a fictional town on the Oregon Coast.

VanChocStrawberry I enjoy it, too! I grew up in Amish country, though not the area of these books and I think this is the only Amish-as-characters fiction I‘ve ever read that didn‘t make me frustrated with the mistakes. 6y
