#tlt #threelistthursday @dabbe

I wasn't going to participate originally, because I didn't want to rack my brain for 80's pop songs, but I thought of a category I could narrow down enough, soundtrack scores 😁

🎷 Gabriel's Oboe by Ennio Morricone from The Mission
🐍 Theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark by John Williams
🦇 Theme from Batman (1989) by Danny Elfman

TheBookHippie John Williams is fantastic! 3d
CatLass007 I‘m not familiar with The Mission. Was it based on a book? I think you‘ve done an excellent job of narrowing down your category. I‘m fairly certain that if I started thinking of music from the 70s or 80s or any other decade, I‘d have those songs running through my head for the rest of the year. John Williams‘ Raiders of the Lost Ark theme is very memorable. But I remember very vividly sitting in the theater watching the maze that became (cont)⬇️ 3d
CatLass007 the Batman symbol and almost physically being pulled in by the music. Not long ago I was having a conversation with my brother about that scene and I said something about Seal singing Kiss from a Rose for the movie and he had no idea who or what I was talking about. Everyone thought Michael Keaton was going to be a terrible Batman, but he was fabulous! 3d

Thank you for this #WondrousWednesday @Eggs 😊

1. Toss up between “Airplane” and “The Naked Gun” by the same filmmakers. The madcap 20-jokes-a-minute pace always makes me laugh and they still hold up decades later.

2. “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”. Overall I really liked it. It was a little too somber for me at times, but Phoebe Waller-Bridge brought some much needed levity to it!

3. I often pray for help for anyone who needs help!

Ruthiella Oh man, I loved those spoof movies by Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker! On bad days at work, I often state that I picked a bad day to give up sniffing glue. 🤣 (edited) 8mo

DaveGreen7777 @bthegood @Ruthiella 😂😂 I have a coworker that we constantly trade the lines “Surely you can‘t be serious?” “I am serious, and don‘t call me Shirley!” 8mo

Eggs Ah yes #1 so many laughs😆 Thanks for playing🥳 8mo
RaeLovesToRead 1) YES and YES!!!!! 2) This film sounds made up 😅 8mo
DaveGreen7777 @RaeLovesToRead Hee hee, “Dial of Destiny” does indeed exist, it‘s “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” that I pretend never happened! 😂 8mo
RaeLovesToRead I enjoyed Crystal Skull in the cinema, but maybe I was young and foolish? ? Dial of Destiny sounds like Harrison Ford has given up and started starring in phone adverts... or maybe he's just Lara Crofting the early 90s... "this ancient artefact is what they used to call a "modem"" ? 8mo

Only have a few more pages left of this one. I will be so happy when it is done.
I've been really enjoying the Indiana based novels as a form of fun escapism and just a good time. But so far this one has been dragging a bit. I hope the end can still save this book from becoming a so so one 😬

What are some escapism books you'd recommend?

The Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular was amazing! This is the stuntman from the show I attended right before the large rock rolls after him!

I love The Librarians show, which was on TNT. It‘s very similar to Indy as they seek historical artifacts and keep them safe in the Library. All the while saving Earth from evil persons who want to wreck havoc with magic.

BookmarkTavern I didn‘t know there were books set in The Librarians universe! I just finished watching the whole series last week! I‘ll have to look this up! ❤️ 4y
CrowCAH @ozma.of.oz ooh yay! According to GoodReads there are three books in the series. 4y

This is the first book of a 12 book series. After there is a brief flash back to 1920‘s Indiana Jones is a graduate student studying linguistics and Greek mythology, but he wonders I‘d there is a better path

Jesse_schindel in life for him. He gets a invitation from his professor following and archeology lecture on the city Delphi. The professor,Dorian Belecamus announces she is leaving for the rest of the year for an archeological discovery in Delphi, she invites Indy as an assistant. After considering he accepts hoping it will lead him on a crazy adventure. If you like adventure and mystery novels you will like this one.#treatyoself 4y
MissYaremcio Great review Jesse! I would have loved to see you talk about some of the motifs in Indiana Jones, but otherwise well done! Do you think you'll continue with the series? 4/6 4y

Just tried to watch Indiana Jones and the Temple of doom. My god it was horrible. The plot was all over the place.

ravenlee I remember watching it for the first time in early college, thinking it was the first movie. My mom sighed and said, “if this had been the first movie there would never have been any others.” When I bought the dvd box set a couple years later I watched them all with the hubby, then we threw away the Temple dvd and kept the other two. 4y
thebacklistbook Thanks for that! I think I have the required gumption to watch the third one now. 4y
