Here is my four legged crew. Top right is Miah. She is 10 and is a rescue. She was surrendered at 8 weeks because they did not have time for her. Bottom left is Bella. Also a rescue. She is 5 and was an owner surrender too. Said she was aggressive. They lied, she loves everyone and just wants to be loved. Bottom right is Dolly. She is 28 and retired. A Horse, Of Course!: A Sumatra Story | Sibley Miller

We're out by Pittsburgh outside of #Punxsutawney visiting the parents for the holiday. I grew up on a horse farm, and we had around a dozen at its peak. We've got one left. This is #Moody, and she's an amazing lady. She just had to frolic and play in the mud today 🙈😆. The cleaning operation took awhile 😁. So, I asked her to pose for my friends and she was happy to oblige.

Miniature Horses | Charlotte Wilcox

A discussion last night somehow got us talking about miniature horses. A quick Google search, and we found a nearby farm that let us come visit. My daughter is leading this 6 month old filly. We were all trying to come up with ways to bring one home with us. @MrBook

Horse Breeds of the World | Judith Draper

This is #Moody. She's not so moody anymore since all the boys left, lol. She used to be one of 12 horses we had on the farm, now she's the last and enjoys having everything to herself. As a kid, instead of doing all of my barn chores, I used to sit on a hay stack or in one of the stalls with one of the horses and read 😆. What a nerd I was 🤓, but a horse-hand nerd 🤠! MiyakoBunny I once went on a field trip where they took us to see horses 🐎. They told us bits of horse facts, allowed us to feed them, & trotted us about in a mini circle on their backs. Then when we were asked if we wanted to pet & comb them they told us about how we could get killed in one swift kick if we did this or that, & the strength of their legs etc. Needless to say I‘ve admired them from afar since 😶 #WhenAdultsRuinThings lol 6y

Lcsmcat I was raised with horses. And we (my Mom, sister, and all extended family here for Thanksgiving) spent this afternoon at a miniature horse farm. I‘ll try to post later. 6y

tapgurl I wanted a horse but I never got one so I read about them! So I'm very knowledgeable about horses even though I've never had one. Plus lots of fiction: Black Beauty, Misty of Chincoteague, Man O War, Exterminater, The Black Stallion series... 6y

scripturient I didn‘t have a horse of my own but I ‚shared‘ one as a teenager. It‘s quite common here and basically means that you help out someone who owns a horse by sharing all the work, i.e. everyone gets certain days a week on which they do everything (brushing, riding, feeding, cleaning the stable, etc.). I loved it! 6y

Dhfinitely My day job is horse trainer & my house is an apartment in a barn. My parents blame Walter Farley & The Black Stallion for my dropping out of college to ride full time. I read it in 3rd grade & was hooked for life! They are amazing animals and I thank my stars everyday that I get to earn a very good living working with them. It's super time consuming work though. Doesn't leave much time for reading at the end of the day.... 6y
