While I loved Witches of New York and was excited to spend time with these women, this fell short of expectations. The characters are wonderful, but this reads like an outline of a story rather than something complete unto itself. I'm a big fan of the novella form, and believe a lot can be packed into a small package, but this just felt like it needed to be fleshed out. A great concept for a return to these witches, but a bit soulless in execution

Which books did you buy as gifts this holiday season?

I went with a witchy theme for my 5-year-old niece. The inspiration was a Witch‘s Apothecary Potion Kit that I found on Etsy; it incorporates STEM, sensory play, and social emotional learning. It comes with rhyming spell cards (for things like kindness & courage), and a slew of special, bottled ingredients. I also got us “matching” hagstone/fairy-stone necklaces.

Wrapped & ready! ✨🎄🔮

The 10 year old rated this one 👍👍. I love Tiffany McDaniel‘s adult books, so I was excited when she wrote a kid‘s book. It‘s about witches, wizards, magical hats & creatures. I loved that Tolden had a little dragon that hung on his ear to whisper what people were saying (creative way to address hearing disability). “I suppose because books make you feel magical. That‘s why some people are frightened of books. That‘s why some people even try to

ncsufoxes ban them. Or worse, burn them.” “Books have some of the biggest wings of all. Big enough to fly the world yo the stars and back. Books are phoenixes. Their stories rise from the ashes.” 2w
AnnCrystal Wow 👏🏼🤩📚💝...and cute coverart 🎨📚💝. 2w
Reggie So the kids books don‘t destroy your soul like her adult books? lol I have never sobbed out loud on a book like I did for The Summer that Melted Everything. 1w
ncsufoxes @Reggie no, her writing is still amazing definitely PG. Yes, I‘ve cried with all of her adult books. On the Savage Side is one of favorite books, just wrecked me. 1w

2.5/5 - soft so-so
While the world building is good, and this book shows a lot of creativity, it just didn't work for me. I just didn't click with it... It happens.
It's a book about healing, about friendship. It took me a while to read, I found some episodes long/not as interesting.
I like how the author played with the fonts.

A story about 3 sisters who are witches who run a cafe and read tea leaves for the customers. The Council of Witches meet with the sisters and give them a task. The sisters feel their magic pulling them in different directions They realise they have been cursed. Should they rewrite their future but what will happen if they try to change their fate?
I was disappointed that I didn‘t enjoy the book immensely and couldn‘t engage with the writing. 3🌟

Saturday morning reading in bed to finish this. Please note the death tower in the background - all unread, not causing me any stress. I wanted to love this book and there are parts that I did, the magic, the sisterhood but the miscommunication went on too long and then wrapped up too fast and the bad guys weren‘t as awful as presented and all I know is it took way too long to finish it when I should have inhaled it 🤷🏻‍♀️maybe it‘s me

Ruthiella Love the death tower! 📚❤️ 2mo
gossamerchild The death tower is so relatable! And I feel you on the miscommunication trope - I get that it creates tension, but sometimes it's just too much. 2mo

It‘s Not Easy Being The Daughter Of The Devil.
It‘s her destiny to rule Hell. As usual, Sabrina has other plans for her future.
The writing is juvenile and redundant at times, but I do like the storyline.

Book 3/Chilling Adventures of Sabrina ⭐️⭐️⭐️
