This book addresses a mixture of social issues some of which will be triggering. This book gives the reader an idea of what is like to be in poverty and discriminated against or being abused. After a traumatic experience, he decides to dedicate his life to help the unfortunate, and faces problems that go along with it. There is a triggering nsfw scene, but I liked everything else in a an I feel sorry the unfortunate, but liked the writing way

I picked this up on a whim at a habitat for humanity down in Pittsboro, North Carolina a couple years back and honestly did not expect to like it. A bit simple throughout but I couldn‘t help getting vested in the characters and the story as a whole. I enjoyed the pieces of Italian history, architecture, and opera throughout and I would say overall that this was a fun and enjoyable read.

Back in the day, I devoured all of John Grisham‘s legal thrillers, so this was a reread. Still enjoyed it!

1. When the tree gives up. This year it was 1/1.

2. Rain. Snow means shoveling, even though our HOA is supposed to take care of it...

Really can‘t even tell you why this is a so-so and not a complete pan. I enjoyed the brief blurbs of Italian history when they came up, took me back to when I went and had me longing for another trip. He described the games with some angst and fervor, you couldn‘t help but want to know how it ends for the Parma Panthers. Ultimately, not riveting nor a stellar plot. Alas, I have read worse. Definitely not a WOW.

Clay tries to sue drug companies to compensate victims of harmful drugs. Whorly was one of his clients, an he hated Clay‘s profit compared to his own, but 64k per case (- whorly‘s 43240) * thousands of cases = Clay‘s a millionare, so Whorly gets mad! Clay‘s greed after his first cases won affects how he handles his cases, and it comes back to haunt him. It‘s a fun book. My problem was goes out with models and fat shames women. Otherwise fun book

Done with The Broker. I think I picked up some Italian while reading this. 😂

Took a break from the others I‘m working on to tackle these 3 short stories. It was a nice break from the others and Jake Brigance made an appearance. #grisham
