Okay, I‘m awake again.

1. Really good. I got through most of my library pile and a bit more besides, and I logged 12 hours of reading time!

2. I went in with loose goals this time.

3. Cheese popcorn!

4. I feel like I stacked a couple things, but I don‘t remember if they were from Readathon participants.

5. I loved revisiting the tagged book for the first time since I was 11! It‘s gonna stay in my permanent collection.

#deweys24readathon done! Total time read: 13 hours 24 mins. I fell short of my goal of 14 hours by a little, but I read more than my usual average of 12 hours, so I‘m satisfied. Audiobooks helped with reading more this time. I exceeded my goal of 600 pages by a little, and met my goal of finishing one book. I got about 3/4 through another as well. Now….off for a nap before family comes over for football! ❤️📚 #deweyoct #deweysreadathon #readathon

Mollyanna Nicely done! Congrats! 🥳 10mo

I put THE BLOODLINE FEUD aside for the Readathon because I still had 2/3 left and I didn‘t think I‘d want to binge it—then the two long chapters I read right at the end of the event set up some TOTALLY BINGEWORTHY developments.

Guess I know what I‘m doing tomorrow.

Tonight, I‘m at just over 12 hours of reading time for my 27th Readathon. I can live with that. I‘m gonna try to sleep. #deweyoct #readathon

Well, I had to cancel my usual midnight sausages because it‘s a pain day and things got pretty bad this evening and I had to take to my bed for a while. Standing at the stove didn‘t seem like a great option after that.

I finished MY SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN, though, and I tore through vol 3 of FENCE! This was my favourite one yet. It took me to 10:36. #deweyoct #readathon

I read a bit of nonfiction and drank another latte. A CRACK IN THE EDGE OF THE WORLD hits me kind of odd. It‘s about the social and geographic state of California at the time of the 1906 earthquake, and I find I like the plate tectonics chapters way more than the social history chapters. I keep dipping in and out of it as the mood takes me.

It doesn‘t help that it‘s so. damned. big. Oversized trade paperbacks are the worst. #deweyoct #readathon

I hardly ever have caffeine this late in the day, but I make myself tea every #readathon to help me stay awake past my bedtime. (My dog has commandeered my blanket, and made himself quite comfortable.) #deweysreadathon #deweyoct #deweys24hourreadathon

Progress so far: 7 hours 18 mins of total reading time and 396 pages read. I‘m facing more distraction than normal at this point in the evening. Using AirPods & ambient noise to try to overcome.

Aims42 Your dog looks so cute! I can almost hear his little snores lol ☺️ Happy Reading!! 10mo
jessjess What's your favourite kind of tea? I love an apple-cinnamon Tetley mix but am also enjoying a Wild Sweet Orange one from Tazo. 10mo
Elizabeth2 @jessjess I usually stick to herbal tea, if I‘m drinking tea - Chamomile or “Sleepy Time” which has lavender is my favorite. But when I want caffeine in my tea, I love English Breakfast with a splash of cream. I recently found English Breakfast with Vanilla & Honey made by Twinings which is sweet on its own. It‘s delicious! 10mo
jessjess @Elizabeth2 I'll have to try the English Breakfast one, vanilla and honey sounds heavenly! I have liked Sleepy Time tea as well. 10mo

I ended up diving back into MSotM, and I‘m really feeling it now. I‘ve said before that I signed up for a forest week in Grade 7 because of Nynaeve, but Sam was also a huge influence there. This book got me into so many nature-centric things.

Like peregrine falcons! A few live around here, and I‘m always excited to see them. This summer, one actually flew THROUGH my gazebo while I was sitting in it. It was awesome. #deweyoct #readathon

mandarchy Oh wow! That's really exciting. I had one eat a pigeon in my tree once. I am glad yours was just flying.
10mo
xicanti @mandarchy it landed on the lawn and my yard was immediately empty of all the usual sparrows, squirrels, and rabbits. Nobody wanted to get eaten. 10mo

I couldn‘t find my way into the last novel I tried, so I took a break to knit, watch last night‘s NANCY DREW, and eat supper. Now I‘m back at it with the last vol of IF I COULD REACH YOU my library owns. I sure hope they eventually buy the finale, too.

I also changed into some EXTREMELY FASHIONABLE attire, because it‘s frickin cold. #readathon #deweyoct

Doing another digital freebie test. This one‘s got promise, but I‘ll need a couple more chapters before I can say whether I‘ll stick with it. #deweyoct #readathon
