APLitlife @Booksandcooks We are in one of the most diverse areas in the United States. In fact, our area does not have an ethic majority. That is partly why I chose The Namesake. So that they can understand the generations here that have parents that have immigrated, or that have immigrated here themselves. 7y

APLitlife @Booksandcooks Where I am at has really exploded in the last 10 years and so there are still tensions between the "longtimers" and the "newcomers". I secretly hope a lot choose this one to read for that one fact. I have wanted to use it as required reading, but too many sexual references for a private school required reading. 7y
