This was my gift from the local church. It passed the censors by being an unimaginative tattoo of the idea that "the Messiah is among you. Choose to make each moment holy." That's not how it works. Nobody cares. I am evil but I could choose to be good. So what? Tell me a story, like... The Five People (YMiH). Give me a vision of how life might work and how my choices affect things. This is a common flaw in "inspirational" literature. No story.
pickDefinitely a good read. Self help books different issues are so mainstream right now that I could hardly find a book that fit within my niche and what I was comfortable with. (Especially what I needed!)
Rev TG Morrow keeps it fairly simple with easy steps, all the while incorporating facets of the Christian faith in an easy way to understand.

bailedI'm on the hunt for good books about virtues. I like Prior's take on the subject. She states in the intro that we may come to different conclusions and that's good. I love that. Some of the choices I agreed with and others not so much. Unfortunately, there was something that didn't draw me in tight. Each time I'd start reading my mind would wander and I had more desire to vacuum than read. I bailed after about 2/3 off the book.

so-soThe stories in this book are familiar and new. I tried to read this to a toddler and it was hard to keep her engaged due to lack of pictures to text.

pickVery well done history of Canadian Residential Schools and today‘s efforts at reconciliation. Would be so beautiful to see the US take a similar approach to our history concerning Native people and African Americans.
