Reviewing this book also brought to mind this barred owl I saw on my Thanksgiving hike this year

Reviewing this book made me think of my last unexpected owl encounter, which was just over a week ago with a pair of hooting Great Horned owls in the predawn hours. The lack of daylight meant I couldn‘t really take a good picture.

As an amateur birder who adores owls, this quiet picture book struck a chord. I‘ve seen owls in unexpected places and missed them when I searched, so I loved how this captures the magic of finally spotting one. A gentle, beautiful reminder of why we keep looking. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very cute book about the importance of having a teacher. Delightful illustrations and it would make a great gift to any teacher.

This book celebrates those of us who believe that we should “dance in different disciplines”, meander in experiences, and not confuse a too early obsession with grit. In a time where year round and travel team youth sports have taken over, this is a testament to the value of learning and thinking from a wide range of disciplines and perspectives. Great book!

Good messages to help professionals, parents, teachers and kids not get stuck in positive or negative mindsets, either of which can cause people to be stuck and stagnant in life.
Ballots were often printed in newspapers: you'd cut one out and bring it with you. With the turn to the secret ballot, beginning in the 1880s, the government began supplying the ballots, but newspapers kept printing them:; they'd use them to conduct their own polls, called "straw polls." Before the election, you'd cut out your ballot and mail it to the newspaper, which would make a prediction.

If everyone yells,
how will we be able to
hear one another?
Food for thought.
