Goodreads isn't recording my stats properly and it's driving me spare! So, after a slight delay, here's my monthly roundup. I don't generally read a lot of YA but I read some superb examples this month #bestofoctober #uncannyoctober

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Great month! 6y
Andrew65 Wow! What a great month, well done! 👏👏👏👏 6y
saresmoore A very good reading month! 6y

Moray_Reads @saresmoore not to forget what was possibly my grumpiest review to date 6y
saresmoore True! But it was a fabulous grumpy review, so it almost makes up for it? 6y
moranadatter Did it just start? I noticed mine got off about 5 days ago. 6y
vivastory Did you know that Andrew Hurley has a new one out? I noticed you enjoyed his book The Loney (still on my TBR) 6y
Moray_Reads @moranadatter it's been a couple of weeks for me, I noticed that our didn't have all of my readathon titles on my read shelf. It's counting them on my challenge and stats screen though 6y
Moray_Reads @vivastory I saw that! It sounds quite similar to the last one but I might see if my library has it 6y

I read a lot more children‘s books than anything else this month, but I squeezed these two in and they both far surpassed my expectations! #BestOfOctober #UncannyOctober #OctoberFavorites #SpookyOctober

October was a fantastic month to make a dent in my TBR! No Rereads and almost 20 books read! Can't wait to dive into November!

Well, I don't really have a favourite from October; I had 6 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ reads and 3 ⭐️⭐️ reads. However, I did have fun reading 80s teen romance novels for #HorrifiedReads! Thanks for the trip down memory lane @RestlessFickleBookSlut! I only made it through 4 out of the 50+ stack, so I think I might keep on reading them. It's been quite the experience! #SpookyOctober #OctoberFavorites #UncannyOctober #BestofOctober

Sace Obviously I've been horrible at my own reading challenge. I was just thinking the other day that I'm going to keep reading them beyond October. 6y

😕 Only 5 books read this month and 3 of them were audio. Of course it's been a a busy month with getting back from vacation, fall gardening, and teaching a new yoga class. But at least they were 5 really great books:
Gentleman in Moscow
Not My Father's Son
The Alice Network
Under the Udala Trees
Eleanor and Park

The Haunting of Hill House | Shirley Jackson

Pickpick

The Haunting of Hill House was the horror story I've been looking for. Shirley Jackson is playing some chess with this one. She guides us through the story, dropping tidbits here and there, but ultimately leaves it for us to decide what exactly went on in that house. Not a big re-reader, but this will become an annual Halloween read. 5🌟

Hearing Alan Cumming use the word wee; e.g. wee belly, wee drink, or casually mentioning the view of the Forth of Firth makes this audio book worth listening to. But it's so much more than that. It's an uplifting story of survival. It's reclaiming your power with a multitude of hairstyles. One moment it's heartbreaking the next hilarious. Witty and charming. #bestofoctober #nonfiction #uncannyoctober @RealLifeReading

TheWordJar Loved this one! Laughed and cried. I could listen to him call his mom "Mary Darling" all day long. 6y
Crinoline_Laphroaig @TheWordJar acknowledgement at end about his husband was just the sweetest. 6y
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled Ive heard so many good reviews that Im just going to have to get this one 6y
Crinoline_Laphroaig @ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled It's so good! Try and get the audio book. 6y

October reading wrap-up! Finished 10 books and many were spooky/October-ish. Favorites were Fever Dream and the Caitlin Kiernan books.

Jess7 How was Sourdough? It‘s on my TBR list, but I do not own it yet. I almost added it to my #botmbox but decided to wait. #botm - have you read it @MinDea 6y
Amandajoy @Jess7 I loved Sourdough! It may be one of my favorites for the year 6y
Beachesnbooks @Jess7 I liked it; it's a cute book but it didn't wow me. I gave it 3 stars 6y
