897 pages later, and I am a better person for it. Masterful, brilliant, heart wrenching, full of anger and sadness and wit and humor. I absolutely loved it. And yep, I know this much is true 😉
(Side note: Wally Lamb lists Mrs. Piggle Wiggle as the first book he read that inspired his writing life. I LOVED Mrs. PW 😊♥️).

Ruthiella I too adored Mrs. Piggle Wiggle as a child. I re-read them a few years ago and still found them delightful. ❤️ 16h
AmyG I love Mrs Piggle Wiggle! My Mom used to read those to me. 16h
CBee @Ruthiella @AmyG ♥️♥️♥️ I might need to find them and read them again! 16h

3⭐
•This author‘s books are either a hit for me or a near miss…this one falls into the latter. Despite wanting to, I never connected with the characters or the story. I‘m willing to admit it might be a me thing.
•Christine Lakin‘s narration was decent.

3.5/5 🌟

This started strongly with a compelling look at mental illness and the bond between twin brothers. However, the relentless misfortunes made the narrative feel forced and overly dramatic. An okay read overall.

julieclair This is adorable! 3mo
dabbe @julieclair I adore these books by Rosamond du Jardin. They're overloaded on 1950s nostalgia, but I still love them anyway. This book is from the Pam & Penny twins series, of which there are four: DOUBLE DATE, DOUBLE FEATURE, SHOWBOAT SUMMER, and DOUBLE WEDDING. 🤩 3mo

I know this was a popular book but it was not to my liking. I normally enjoy psychological insight within a novel but this book felt more like the day to day ramblings and procrastination of a brother who chose to be misguided and utilized his brother as a source of blame. Not for me.

Delightful middle grade Hanukkah and Christmas book about identical twin girls who were adopted by different families and then happened to find each other.
