This was my favorite book from #October. There‘s all kinds of representation, which I think is great! The 2 MCs are fabulous, and their supporting cast of characters are just as much so. A great read!

October was a month of stand out novellas for me. Rizzio was my favourite: fast-paced, intense, political intrigue with a side of wit.
Honourable mentions:
📚 All Systems Red (Murderbot is awesome)
📚 A Spindle Splintered

Barbara Pym was one of those writers I've known of forever but never got around to reading. That changed this year with some encouragement from @Centique @LeahBergen @Cathythoughts and @Ruthiella I loved this book and its sort of sequel Less Than Angels.

I don‘t know why I was so hesitant to jump into this series. This was a 5⭐️ read for me & I‘ve read book 2 as well. Took a break from it to read holiday books but book 3 is up this month.

I only read a couple books, but this one about the opening of Tutankhamun's tomb was very interesting. And I've read a couple more by this author that I have liked
The second #12Booksof2021 from this great series. This time for #October. Worried how he‘d follow the events of the previous book, but he wrote it brilliantly. What an ending to the book 😱😳. Now waiting impatiently for the publication of the next book in the series (May). #10thBookof2021
Says something that this book beat Stolen Ones by Angela Marsons, Secret Prey by John Sandford, and Dead Mercy by Noelle Holten which are all great books.

I only heard about this author on a tls podcast and tried this great book but have now noticed a lot of references to his book 'trees' on litsy. Hopefully I'll read more by him in 2022
