Frenchman's Creek | Dame Daphne Du Maurier

Hey, Paula! I think that you sent me a book from another of your #LMPBC groups? No sweat, just wanted to let you know. 😊

If you‘d like me to forward it, drop me an email (robinb@litsy.com) with the recipient‘s name/address. 👍

bookandbedandtea Oh no!! @ElizaMarie Apparently I screwed up. If I emailed both of you the other's address, would you send each other the correct books? I'll be happy to venmo you both the postage. I can't believe I did that! I'm so sorry! 😳😖 1mo
robinb @bookandbedandtea it‘s no biggie, Paula…no Venmo necessary for me. And yes, happy to forward to @ElizaMarie on Monday. 1mo
ElizaMarie @bookandbedandtea No problem! (Also no Vemo needed - these things happen). I haven't gotten the book you meant to send to @RobinB though. When did you send it? (edited) 1mo

TheAromaofBooks Oh @bookandbedandtea I FINALLY got your books in the mail today!! I sent you back Celine from the last round, and The Only Survivors for this round. Sorry it took so long - part of it was me not getting to reading the book and then this week has just been absolute pandemonium in my family lol But you should get them soon!!!! @Jerdencon @robinb 1mo
bookandbedandtea @ElizaMarie I mailed both books last Monday. If it didn't get to you by today I'd assume it will arrive Monday. I'm away from home right now but I can track it when I get back home tomorrow night. I'll email both you and @robinb with each other's addresses. 1mo
bookandbedandtea @TheAromaofBooks I hope it's been good family pandemonium, or at least nothing too bad! You're timing for sending those is actually pretty good! I'll probably be just about ready to read TOS when it arrives. 😊 1mo
TheAromaofBooks @bookandbedandtea - Why do phones want to autocorrect words into other words?! If mine changes we're to were one more time, I'm going to lose it! 😂 1mo
bookandbedandtea @robinb I just tried sending an email to you and Eliza but I got a failure message for you. Can you email me at ps.harp@comcast.net? 1mo
robinb @bookandbedandtea hi Paula! Just sent an email. Let me know if you don‘t receive it. 😊 1mo
robinb Hi Paula! @bookandbedandtea Just got my #LMPBC today. I‘ll get started on it as soon as I can…got a busy week unfortunately. 😩 Thanks for sending @ElizaMarie ! 🤗 Did you receive yours, Eliza? According to tracking number it should reach you today. 🤞🏼🤞🏼 (edited) 3w
ElizaMarie @robinb @BookAndBedAndTea I never got it the #LMBC book. I had been meaning to send this message earlier this week. Didn't see the comment until I went to go dig for it. But yeah, I haven't received the book yet. And... well there will be no way I would even begin to finish it -- 2w
robinb @ElizaMarie so sorry it‘s so late, Eliza…you never know these days. It appears to still be slowly moving. I‘ll be keeping an eye on it from my end. @bookandbedandtea 2w
ElizaMarie @robinb Does is show as being delivered already? I checked the neighbor and they said they didn't get anything. 2w
robinb @ElizaMarie No. It shows that it‘s still in transit but delayed. I think I sent you the tracking number in our last email? If not, let me know, and I‘ll do that. 2w
ElizaMarie @robinb You might have sent it, but I could have accidently deleted the email. I tend to delete emails when I think I have completed what I had to do with it. So, it might have been something like that. 2w

robinb @ElizaMarie That‘s OK. I‘ll send it now. 2w
robinb @ElizaMarie It is finally moving. It SAYS delivery tomorrow and appears to currently be in Nashua, NH. 🤞🏼🤞🏼 @bookandbedandtea (edited) 2w
robinb @ElizaMarie It‘s delivered! 🎉 @bookandbedandtea 2w
ElizaMarie @bookandbedandtea I got it! Not sure if I‘ll get to read it… but it‘s here :) 2w
bookandbedandtea @ElizaMarie I promise that will not happen again 2w
ElizaMarie @bookandbedandtea Oh, don't worry about it. Accidents happen. Life is super crazy all over all the time! So. No biggie. I think I am going to send this to the next person. I know I won't be able to get halfway through this one (and I have a couple of others started). But... I hear it's a good book, so I will put it in my TBR and get to it soon-ish! 2w

Pickpick

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ This book was my #lmbc pick, Rd 16, Group W. It is is about facing our pains and finding peace in who we are alongside that pain. If you enjoy romance and cozy lit fic, you‘ll likely enjoy this one. It has a cozy setting, a budding romance, humor, and some very cheesetastic lines. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/58503739. @Deblovestoread I‘m sending it your way today! @julieclair @Jerdencon

TheNeverendingTBR What a lovely cover 😍 1y

I have had such a hard time reading my book for #lmbc. I have 5 days to read 200+ pages. The tumor in my head has been flaring up pretty badly and I have a wicked headache. Wish me luck!

BookmarkTavern Hope you feel better soon! 💖 2y

How do I mark up this book? Someone said just to highlight parts that stand out to me. Is that right? Sorry, I've never done this.

CBee @suvata can you help? 😊 2y
suvata You can mark them up however you want. You can highlight areas, underline lines, write notes in the margins, etc. you don‘t have to be totally serious about your notes. Often times, people will just write “lol“ “yummy”. I have even been known to attach a picture to a page that has additional images or explanations that I found while googling something. The photo you provided with your question looks just perfect to me. (edited) 2y

Bailedbailed

Ok I tried. I usually have a 100 page rule before I bail. I‘m at 87 and I can‘t. I have too many books I want to read. I‘m sorry. Just can‘t. #LMBC fail for me. It was bound to happen when I join groups out of my comfort zone......

rsteve388 No worries. It was rough. Glad to know the book made it to you. 3y
Amiable What was it that made you bail? The subject matter? The writing style? I have this book in my pile at home and haven‘t read it yet. 3y
Bookishlie It was very dense informational reading and to me there was no spark that made it more interesting. It just seemed to read out dates, this happened , that happened, next thing. I‘m also very much a mood reader and this wasn‘t for me. 3y

Mehso-so

This book had a lot of detail.regarding the many murders that took place throughout Victorian London.and how it influenced novels, stage plays and entertainment overall. It was a bit too long for my liking and I found myself having to push through the book in order to finish it. Had this book been developed into two.books it might be easier to handle all the details.

#LMBC @Annie1215 Sending you the book on Monday.

Thanks for the tag @EadieB ! Tana French novels makes me think of cold weather. Holiday weekend I wan to finish my #LMBC reads so I can get them in the mail. I had planned to do a big batch of barley soup to also share with an elderly neighbor in need but work got in the way. So tomorrow. Had a delicious salad instead. This week, in light of the U.S. election it has been the movie version of Hamilton!

Bklover I love barley soup! Do you have a good recipe for it? 3y
EadieB Love your answers! Thanks for playing! 3y
SamAnne @Bklover one of the first soups I learned to make out of the old Moosewood cookbook. A vegetarian beef mushroom vegetable. I still riff on that one, but I'm no longer vegetarian. There is a delicious recipe where you caramelize the chopped onions in Vegetarian Cooking For Everyone by Deborah Madison (an excellent basic cookbook for everyone!). I make mine with beef, turkey or veggie stock, mushrooms (regular white, dried or fresh wild or combo 3y
SamAnne @Bklover Chopped carrots. Most people add celery (I don“t like celery) but I will sometimes add chopped celery root which I love. Onions, garlic. Moosewood recipe uses dill for the herb, but you can use thyme, a little rosemary. A half cup of sherry really rounds the flavor, or some white wine. Salt, pepper. A little soy sauce/tamari at the end for a little more salty if needed. Beef, turkey, chicken if you want. Easy to make and change up! 3y
Bklover Oh my goodness thank you! The recipe I‘ve used (I have only made it once) was pretty basic. Took a screenshot of your suggestions and am going to try some this weekend. I love the idea of the mushrooms - thank you again for this!!❤️ 3y

Pickpick

@runswithscissors007 , @BookishTrish , @FantasyChick - #lmbc - I can't wait to get your thoughts on this book! I really enjoyed this novel by first time author Amy Spurway. The characters are gritty and true maritimers- I felt like they could be around my neighbourhood kitchen table.
