+Uhmmm.. It was infuriating to read. But I'm honestly glad that it was over. 😂 I almost DNF, but since it was my friend's recommendation, I should at least try to finish it.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
+Also, there's a lot of plot holes. The ending was predictable and satisfying. If you like domestic thriller, this book is for you.⁣⁣

Pearls pick for the month of January will be another banger by S.A. Cosby. We were so impressed with Razorblade Tears that we decided to add another title of his to our roster.

Better than The Girl on the Train. Not much, though. Too many questions stayed unanswered. Seems like the river is living its own life keeping too many secrets.
I felt like there are too many main characters revealing stories from their point of the view. If there were less, it would be also less confusing following the storyline.
Anyway, I loved the idea of a small town with big secrets and the history of the misterious river.

My first read of 2018. What a perfect choice to welcome a new year. The rambling wander of Lillian through her city, accompanied by her memories, some of which were really touching and emotional, invoked such thoughts about our lives and the ways tgat people come in and out of them, sometimes with huge impact, other times more subtly.
Thank you @wormkim for this book. You're welcome to borrow it :) #litsybuddyread #januaryread

wormkim I'm so pleased it was a hit for you! I'll look forward to having a read 😘 6y

Snowblind | Quentin Bates, Ragnar Jonasson

Ari Thor is shaping up to be a new bookcrush candidate. I'm about 70 pages in. Jonasson's storytelling ability is outstanding. He's slowly building the plot and introducing the characters with a deliberate intent. I am loving it. ❄️

elliemcc11 I got this pre-publication and never quite managed to finish it...not sure why though. 7y
Jess_Read_This @elliemcc11 I just finished it and really enjoyed it! I'm already looking into getting the second one! 7y
elliemcc11 Maybe I wasn't in a reading mood...I just can't remember now 🤔 7y

Jess_Read_This @elliemcc11 I've had those moods! I found this one to be very character driven and the plot moved along in the background. Which is completely opposite of a lot of crime fiction I've read before. 7y
elliemcc11 I usually love Scandinavian crime novels as well! 7y
Jess_Read_This @elliemcc11 This one was my first! Have you read Sarah Blaedel? I saw he had one of her books posted on his IG page 7y
elliemcc11 I haven't as yet but have one waiting in the wings. I think she's Danish. 7y
Jess_Read_This @elliemcc11 Let me know if you get to it, I'd love to hear your thoughts on her books! I'm hoping I can find a copy at the library here. 7y
elliemcc11 I'll see if I can find it in my shelves and will post a pic. I've read quite a few Scandinavian so happy to recommend. Some are easy reads and usually have good characters to get into. 7y

Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald | Therese Anne Fowler

Pickpick

"She refused to be bored chiefly because she wasn't boring" ~the incomparable Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald

This fictionalized account of the marriage, relationship, and life of Zelda Fitzgerald has sparked my interest into the biography genre. I plan on making a study of both F.S. Fitzgerald and Zelda Fitzgerald. It was a delightful read. Though very clear the author is on Team Zelda.

hlgreenfield I don't know a lot about them, but always wanted to know more. They sound like such a destructive, fascinating couple. From what I know Team Zelda is the right team to be on since FS didn't seem to treat her right, but I'd love to know more and be making an informed decision on that 7y
Jess_Read_This @hlgreenfield I'm just learning a bit more about them. I've been a Scott fan for awhile now but after reading this book; I'm Zelda fan. I've picked up a few biographies on her and her book Save Me the Waltz. She was a terrific writer and some of Scott's stories were actually hers. She allowed them to be published under his name since they would get more money for them. 7y
hlgreenfield @Jess_Read_This I've never read anything of hers ( though I do have interest to) and I'd hear about her publishing some stuff under his name. They were definitely a fascinating couple and having read most of F Scott's work I really want to read some of hers as well! 7y
Jess_Read_This @hlgreenfield Her book though fictional, is said to be based on their marriage. F Scott reportedly hated it and did do some edits. I was able to get a copy from Book Depository. 7y
