julesG And, my #GuiltyPleasure, sizzling romances by Lauren Blakely. 😁 3w
Aimeesue The Number One Ladies Détective Agency series, read by Lissette Lecat. Anything read by Stephen Fry or Tim Curry - velvet voices! 3w
AmyG Insomnia by Stephen King.....brilliantly read by Eli Wallach. 3w
Bookies Should support indie bookstores. Libro.fm has digital audio that does. 3w
baes I listen to the Outlander series while I read physical copies of the books. She‘s so good at the different accents and gives each character their own voice. Really brings the books to life. (edited) 3w
Sharpeipup Anything read by Jim Dale such as 3w
Susanita I really enjoyed this on audio: 3w
riversong153 Omg...The Night Circus was excellent on audio! 3w
Cathythoughts I really like this one on Audible 3w
youneverarrived Born a Crime, The Choice, Blackout & In Order to Live are all brilliant non-fiction on audio. 3w
marleed The full cast of Daisy Jones and the Six is the only time I‘ve ever recommended that if someone read the book they also give the audiobook a listen. 3w
marleed @Sharpeipup I recently listened to the Night Circus read by Jim Dale and had to keep reminding myself I wasn‘t inside a Harry Potter book. I have Jim Dale stereotyped - in a good way! 3w
Birdsong28 This is really good on audiobook 3w
Cinfhen Kevin Hart is probably hilarious @Birdsong28 I‘m definitely going to look out for that one ☝🏾 thanks for the suggestion 3w
Cinfhen I picked up Yes, Please on Hoopla @Susanita and People of the Book is one of my favorite actual books 📖 3w
Cinfhen I could see Daisy Jones being excellent as an audio choice @marleed 3w
Birdsong28 @Cinfhen It is such a good book, it's just like listening to him do stand up. I only got it for 99p as it was in Audible's Christmas daily deals one of the best audiobook I have heard. 📚📖 3w
BarbaraBB I don‘t know if it is available but if so, please get Cassandra at the Wedding. I am soooo sure you‘ll love it (and I can‘t send you my copy as it is part of my NYRB collection) 😃 3w
Cinfhen You‘re so sweet!! It‘s not available but I‘ll keep my eyes open @BarbaraBB 😘😘 3w
toofondofbooks Ready Player One narrated by Will Wheaton, The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, Anything by Neil Gaiman bc he usually does his own narration, The Gentleman Bastard Series, most Stephen King is excellent, anything narrated by Bronson Pinchot, Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Tales, Swan Song by Robert McCammon, Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness 3w
Cinfhen Thanks so much @toofondofbooks I‘ve been eyeing a few of these books 🤩🤩 3w
Centique @Bookies not available in my country unfortunately. Many of us on Litsy aren‘t North American. 3w
LeticiaToraci I usually look for new releases that are cheaper to get for the Audible monthly fee than the current book price and listen the probe. One I liked was a series by Jessica Cluess. 2w
LeticiaToraci The name of the trilogy was Kingdom on Fire, YA with fantasy and very well written. 2w
LeticiaToraci Another was a retelling of Frankenstein, The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein. 2w

Remember this book and The Staircase? I knew I had seen a picture many times of Mike and Kathleen dancing. I wonder if his guilty feet have got no rhythm? Is he ever going to dance again? The way he danced with yoooouuuu? 😂😂

I love #carelesswhisper! Strangely enough, I listened to it a lot in college in Durham. 🤷🏻‍♀️ #anglophileapril

emilyhaldi I haven‘t stopped thinking about the Staircase since I watched it!!!!!!!!! 1mo
Cinfhen They looked so happy back then. What a terrible story. 1mo
Megabooks @emilyhaldi I only stopped thinking about it after I both watched The Staircase AND read this book. It brought back the old familiar confusion I had after it happened so I just moved out of my head. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 1mo

Megabooks @Cinfhen it is. I watch My 600 lb Life and the people on it really believe themselves when the say they don‘t eat that much. They erase pizzas and ice cream and focus on the orange they once ate. They forget that they (for real) ate $30 of McDonald‘s at one meal and say they can‘t afford healthy food. My point is that people can make themselves forget things. I wonder if mike pushed back the murder so far he doesn‘t think he actually did it. (edited) 1mo
Megabooks @emilyhaldi @Cinfhen I really can‘t believe I just used My 600 lb Life in an intelligent discussion. #guiltypleasure 🤦🏻‍♀️ 1mo
Cinfhen Ha!!!! And here I was thinking THAT was VERY PROFOUND! 🙌🏻💕😂 1mo
Megabooks @Cinfhen I try! Lol 😉😘 1mo
Megabooks @Cinfhen I just couldn‘t stop thinking how hard it is to spend $30 at McDonald‘s!! I mean it was 2 double quarter pounder meals, 20 piece nugget, cookies, and a shake! I mean, for f**** sake! I was totally gobsmacked. Then she goes to Dr. Now and says she eats grapes and crackers. As you can tell, I needed to get this out! 1mo
LauraJ @Megabooks I‘m glad you got it out. I‘m very amused by this whole thread. 😸 1mo
Megabooks @LauraJ lol! 😂 I‘m glad. Sometimes I get a little punch-drunk when I‘m up late and finally get the house to myself!! 1mo
Cinfhen Hahaha!!! I might need to watch a few episodes 1mo
Megabooks @Cinfhen It‘s an interesting program. I‘m always rooting for them to lose weight, but sometimes their excuses are just absurd. There was a good one recently where the man lost half his body weight and made peace with his abusive father. Then there‘s this shady therapist that makes me angry because she seems to bring up the worst parts of their lives for ratings. The worst was when Dr. Now verbally berated a mentally unstable woman that made me cry 1mo
Cinfhen Some of those scenarios sound abusive😢I‘m always curious what motivates a person to go on national TV and subject themselves. 1mo
EadieB @Megabooks @Cinfhen Love your discussion about My 600 lb. life! Never saw the show but I‘ll have to check it out! Back to Michael - he definitely is totally in denial about murdering these women. I keep thinking about the control he had over the girls even after he killed their mother! Wicked man! 1mo
Cinfhen He really is a wicked man @EadieB I almost forgot about those poor girls 1mo
Reviewsbylola That brings a whole new level of creepiness to the song. 😆 1mo
Mdargusch Great tie in! 1mo
Megabooks @EadieB @Cinfhen I had temporarily forgotten about Margaret and Martha too! I feel terrible for them!! 😢😢 Cindy - regarding the show, they get a pittance of money, but they do get free medical care as long as they‘re being filmed. (There are follow-up shows where they get loose skin removed.) Many have been turned away from other drs for being too large or have Medicaid that won‘t pay, so they see this as their only option. ☹️ 1mo
Megabooks @Reviewsbylola Right? I always thought this was one of the stranger George Michael songs. 1mo
Megabooks @Mdargusch Thanks! 1mo

32 books for $50? I don‘t have extra money, and I really really don‘t need more books, plus if my parents see the box they‘ll flip. But I‘m so sad and when I get sad I buy books. This is unhealthy and I shouldn‘t do it. Even if they are splendid.......I‘m so torn.

TrishB I do that too! 3mo

New Moon | Stephanie Meyer

Ten years ago, when I first read the books, I was more into vampires, but now after rereading New Moon, I'm totally a wolf girl! 🐺🐺 #teamjacob #twilight #guiltypleasure

P.S. Ten years ago I was a mega fan of everything Twilight related. Oh, what fun it was to be a raging hormonal teenage girl! 😁

Lynnsoprano I used to laugh, as a teacher, because I had a number of girls who would keep the Twilight books with them in class (middle school) and pull them out any chance they got. As long as they were doing what they were supposed to in my music class, I was not about to discourage them reading. 3mo
Birdsong28 Totally #teamjacob 🐺🐺🐺🐺😍😍😍😍📚📖 3mo

Day 6 of #RiotGrams is a book outside of your comfort zone
This book was given to me by my grandmother when I was 15.

She handed me this and said, "I know you don't like romance but I really think you will like this." That was almost 25 years ago. My grandmother died when I was 16.

This book has traveled with me to all the places I have lived since then. I have not yet read it.

Perhaps this is the year.

Mehso-so

This book, I thought was not far off from a lot of chick lit – very soap opera-like. I didn‘t like some of the outcomes of the characters I read so much of when I was younger, but I didn‘t think the story was really so terrible (again, in comparison to other chick lit). Though some of the characters really didn‘t seem to have grown up much, I still found it somewhat entertaining, and it was a fast read.

Shley9225 Is this good? I felt like it was going to be just like every other YA Medical Contemporary so I passed on it :/ 4mo
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego @Shley9225 It is your typical YA love story. Which I enjoy. But there is a plot twist, and I was surprised by it. It's a quick read, so even if you don't love it, you won't of invested to much time in it. 😊 4mo
Shley9225 @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego *immediately requests it from library* 4mo
Chelleo Yeah, I enjoyed this a lot! 4mo
