I love these characters and wish there were more books in the series. Only negative for this book is that it causes crisis fatigue; you can't go very many pages without an emergency.
So fun to return to the Grishaverse! I didn‘t love it the same way I loved the Six of Crows duology, but it‘s better than the Shadow and Bones books in my opinion. There aren‘t really any new characters, but why do you need them when the existing cast is this entertaining?
I‘m also so proud to have finished my first book after having a baby a few weeks ago!! I‘ve just gotten comfortable enough to read while nursing/napping 😊
I told my daughter I was going to choose Crooked Kingdom for this post and she said “Pekka Rollins?!?!?” I do not know what is wrong with that child. COLM FAHEY. He was a real dad. Flawed but able to see those flaws when pointed out to him and willing to do anything to help his son.

A satisfying conclusion, though probably too long considering the final battle. Some plot omissions bothered me - but not enough to not be touched by the final outcome.
I shall return to the Grishaverse soon - especially given the hints about the series ahead. 🏴☠️👑
Had to wait over a hundred pages for the best character in this series to appear in Book 3 🤣🤷🏻♀️😅
What a final line to open Book 3.
Scratching the itch by finishing this trilogy out then pausing my foray into the Grishaverse in favor of the rest of the books on my actual shelf staring at me. 😂
King Nicholai is trying to remove his demon, but yet prepare Rafka for the war he feels encroaching even as he attempts to prevent it. Interestingly, many of the characters learn to face their own demons as the battle of good and evil continues. While Nicholai is searching for answers, Isaac is asked to step in to planned festivities on his behalf. And I hate the very end, but must now read the next book.
1) Already did. I chose Lee. The reasons are a little complicated and maybe even corny.
2) when I was young I had a cat I named after my favorite comic strip, Ziggy.
3) The name William keeps popping up in my reading and in a fanfic I‘m writing, but Kaz will always be my fave. :)
