Not bad so far. I've only finished chapter one while sitting here in the library, but I can see the idea. It's really getting into the minds of the characters, starting with Batman. I'm always down for a good Batman story. And this is the first novel I've actually started reading about the Bat.

Karkar Batman is my favorite DC character. 2w
KennethTolesJr @Karkar Mine too. Though, lately, I've been leaning more towards Jon Stewart's iteration of Green Lantern. 2w
Karkar @KennethTolesJr will have to check that out! Thanks! 2w
KennethTolesJr @Karkar No problem! 2w

Today‘s episode is so much fun! ‪Alex & Carmen met for the 1st time at our interview but quickly bonded over their shared love of early Christian Slater movies. 😂 We talked about how dolphins are the frat boys of the sea, that genres sometimes hinder writers, & how a great book can be so much smarter than its author. I can‘t put this book down...It‘s #warm, #heartbreaking, and #funny! I laughed at Eleanor‘s quirks, cried at her darkness and sadness, and was touched to see her slowly opened herself to the unfamiliar and allowed light & friendship to go thru her, and finding her own voice. She is indeed, completely fine. Honeyman has such a fine way of story telling and I hope to read more from the author soon! #E

5 ⭐️. Well worth the hype, same as Michelle Obama‘s book. But unlike MO‘s book where she is striving to go forward, Tara seems to be stuck in the mire that is her immediate family and seems always to be pulled back rather than pulled forward. Such a sharp contrast between Michelle‘s and Tara‘s experiences growing up. #litsyatoz #litsyatoz2019 #lettere #e #2019

This is quite boring up to 2/3 of the over hyped book. Not much of a plot, both superficial POVs run from one place to another, the answers delayed ad infinitum so that you read on. A pity because the premise hinted at so much more.
The last third of the book was better, perhaps the book would be better if Rhee's POV had been more developed. Her POV was driving the plot, while Aly's felt like repetitive filler. #E for #AtoZLitsy

A great speed read and an incredible blueprint to discovering incredible (black, female) authors. 💪🏻🤗

Dear Janet,
I‘m sorry but our time together has come to an end. While I think this book is better than the last, your series no longer sparks joy for me. I was happy with Stephanie and her life as is, including her indecision between Morelli and Ranger. I didn‘t care for the addition of Diesel or, in this one, Wolf. It felt like you needed to hit a word count and threw in a pointless character. Peace out. #E #LitsyAtoZ #seriesbreakup #teamranger

readinginthedark Sometimes series go on too long. I felt similarly about the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. 😕 5mo
TiredLibrarian I agree. The earliest books in this series were so much fun, but it ran out if steam a while ago. 😕 5mo
Reggie Oh no!!!! the seriesbreakup hashtag!!! 😭Lol it happens. 5mo

Cinfhen I thought that was very gentle!! Nice way to say goodbye 😉 5mo
JoScho Ugh. They were so good in the beginning. 5mo
Traci1 I feel exactly the same way. It was a bit better than 24, but that's saying very little. I hate that she brought Diesel and Wulf in from the between the numbers books, which are a tad supernatural. Steph's story didn't need any supernatural stuff added. If she's going to continue down that road, I think I'm done too. I hate that, because I loved those books. 😔 5mo
Mdargusch Oh darn. Like I‘ve said before, I‘m glad I stopped at book eight. 5mo
Dragon I gave up at nineteen 🐉 5mo
Larkken “Spark joy” -> 🤣 5mo
Bookzombie @readinginthedark Yes, they do. I never finished Sookie either. I started book 8 and then never finished it. 5mo
Bookzombie @TiredLibrarian Thanks, it definitely did. 5mo
Bookzombie @Reggie LOL! It made happy to write that hashtag. 5mo
Bookzombie @Cinfhen Thank you! I think if I wasn‘t limited to 451 characters it might have become a rant. Lol. 5mo
Bookzombie @JoScho They were! Some day I might revisit the early ones because I did love the characters. 5mo
Bookzombie @Traci1 I enjoy supernatural but I so agree that Stephanie didn‘t need that in her story. I read the between the numbers books and didn‘t really enjoy them. It‘s hard to find you dislike a series that was a favorite. I‘m sure I will revisit the early books one day. I really enjoyed the audio versions. 5mo
Bookzombie @Mdargusch 🙂 There may have been a few good ones after that but you probably stopped at a perfect time. 5mo
Traci1 @Bookzombie yeah, some of my favorite books are fantasy / supernatural. But to add it to an established story that was never like that is just weird. I liked the normal Plum world just the way it was. There was no need to mess with it. Leave out Diesel and give me more Lula and Grandma Mazur! 😁 5mo
Bookzombie @Dragon Yeah, I was already thinking about ending it then. Sometimes breakups are a long time coming. 😉 5mo
Bookzombie @Larkken 😂😂 5mo
Bookzombie @Traci1 I‘m in total agreement. 🙂 5mo
Dragon So true 👍🐉 5mo
readinginthedark Yeah, I finished that series because they were such quick reads for me, but I'll probably never do that again with a series I just can't take any more. 5mo

Starting this bad boy. I‘m excited, and nervous, to find out what happens to all my favorite characters! (And not so favorite 😉.)

Well, that was both heartbreaking and eye-opening. This book, his research, all of it is so important. Everyone should read it. In this, there aren‘t really “bad guys”, aside from policy makers. You find yourself siding with the ‘slumlord‘ one minute and rooting for the tenant the next. America‘s got some issues, this is a huge one that I think many don‘t even know is happening down the street from them. #LitsyAtoZ #E #readharder2018 #mounttbr

Samplergal On my shelf for a year and somehow I still can get to it. 12mo
Reggie Oh man, this was rough, especially reading about how hard for mothers it was to rent from all these landlords with their discriminations towards kids. Where are they supposed to go? I was angry reading this book. 12mo
Reviewsbylola I felt very similarly. This book made me feel hopeless. 12mo
