Downward Dog: A Novel | Edward Vilga

Pickpick

I really liked the way poses were explained (In a fairly informal way!) at the beginning of sections. And that the ending didn‘t go as I expected.
Despite the MC being a massive ass half of the time, I did find him strangely likeable! And it was an enjoyable journey. The yoga teacher Gigi sounds amazing, and I need someone like her in my life!

Also read for #PosedByTheBook #DownwardDog (June‘s challenge book)

morevna When does a book qualify as a chunkster? Also, I love this term 😍😂 6y
Jess7 Haha! Thanks! I‘ve seen other people use the term. I‘m not 100 percent sure — but it was thick. I think it might have been over 600 pages but I‘m not 100 percent on what qualifies - maybe just whatever you consider large? 🤗 @morevna 6y
britt_brooke @jess7 Great month! I consider anything over 500 pages a chunkster, but I think it‘s subjective. 😄 @morevna 6y
Karkar I think it is totally subjective. I think anything over 500 pages is a chunkster. 6y

Jess7 Thanks this only happens when my previous month‘s stats were like 2-4 books — bc a lot of these were started the previous month. I always have like 2, then 11, then 3 or 4, etc... Low months followed by high months lol @laurenlovesliterature 6y

I just came across this book on #netgalley and I couldn‘t be more excited! 🐾 Do you ever wonder what your dog is thinking? I do and I cannot wait to read this! 😂

This is a 68 pp humorous “book of haiku and illustrations from the mind of Martin, the talking, angst-ridden, introspective dog from the ABC TV series, #DownwardDog.” It is written by one of the show‘s creative writers, Samm Hodges.

#ARC #Netgalley #availablenow Pub date was 6/2017

InBooksILive I loved this show! It was hilarious! I love Martin ❤ 6y
Jess7 Update: 2/5 ⭐️⭐️ Stars (for the book): this book feels shorter than even 68 pages because of the illustrations. It was cute. I chuckled, but it was not nearly as good as the show. The show does a much better job of expanding on Martin‘s perceptions and though. Honestly, had I not of watched the show before reading this I do not think I would have liked it. #jpbookreview #bookreview #review 6y
