Admittedly I watched the #Netflix show first, but that's nothing compared to the book. It's so twisted and eerie, very mature, however I did find that it dragged on at some parts. I enjoyed this book, but I dont think I will re-read it, but like all my other book babies, it goes on the bookshelf!

AHHHH I AM SO EXCITED! Two more books are coming for the "You" series by Caroline Kepnes. They are some of my favorite audiobooks, narrated by Santino Fontana (and the TV series is great too - Lifetime dropped it but Netflix recently picked it up for season 2, based on Hidden Bodies - comes out later this year I think). May she write faster than GRRM so the series can still follow her excellent plotting.

Caroline Kepnes' sequel to "You" was about everything I could ask for. A few times here and there I wish one thing had happened or another hadn't, but Kepnes is published and I'm not.? 5?for sure. I'm curious for people who like Joe, you're not alone, why you do? I want to write a paper about Joe being an anti-hero and am curious what people's thoughts are. Let me know! #freejoe #hiddenbodies #you #whatdououthink

tpixie I didn‘t realize this was a book! I‘ve watched the tv show. Unfortunately psychopaths are charming!! It‘s scary how they can pull you in. Welcome 🥳📚🥳to Litsy 8mo
she_isthe_arrow It's kind of strange how even in the worst kinds of people we can see ourselves sometimes. And thank you ☺️ 8mo

Which book has disappointed you?

For me, #GoneGirl received rave reviews and I found myself bored. I hated the characters - I felt there was so much malice but a lack of depth making them unrelatable (Thank GAWD).

#You , however, is so captivating. I find myself wanting to know more about Beck (as I'm thinking #getsomecurtains girlfriend) and getting enveloped in Joe's twisted little mind. Can't wait to loose sleep over this read. #teamnosleep

AlaSkaat This has bored me. The only part I found good was her on the train watching people and imagining things bcs that is what I do, haha. But the story overall was so disappointing 9mo

rretzler Welcome to Litsy and thanks for the follow. I can‘t think of any specific books that have disappointed me because I tend to read only those books I‘m pretty sure I‘ll like, but I do read the series of several authors who are nearing or over 80 and sometimes find their most recent works not to be as good as they had been in their prime 9mo
AlaSkaat @ReadingOverSleeping It really was. She could have done the plot better and the book would have been so good 9mo

ReadingOverSleeping @SW-T I couldn't decide who I hated more 😂 9mo
ReadingOverSleeping @rretzler That's great you haven't had a bad read! How do you funnel them out? I have an issue that I have to finish a book after starting it even if it's terrible ... I've wasted several nights lol! 9mo
ReadingOverSleeping @PurpleyPumpkin Are you reading anything you recommend? 😁 9mo
rretzler Oh, I didn‘t say I hadn‘t had a bad read - I couldn‘t think of any books that particularly disappointed me - ones that I was expecting to like and didn‘t. I don‘t like anything I‘ve read by James Joyce, but I didn‘t expect to and I won‘t read any more by him. I also tend to finish books that I start, rarely do I not finish a book. (con‘t.) 9mo
rretzler I‘m reading a bunch of ongoing series that I enjoy and I guess over 50 years of reading I‘ve figured out specifically what I like. If it‘s an author I‘ve never heard of before, I will look at descriptions, reviews and then maybe try a sample first. I guess perhaps we are using the word disappointed differently. I think of it as I book I thought I would like and didn‘t. Sometimes I do read books that I think I may not like but still need to read. 9mo
ReadingOverSleeping @rretzler I love that: "Sometimes I do read books that I think I may not like but still need to read." I have to start doing this. I want to be more well rounded as a reader and learn about different people and places but I have a hard time putting down my thrillers. So glad you've found series you enjoy! 9mo
ReadingOverSleeping @RadicalReader I loved that! Turning one more chapter into one more book ♥️ 9mo
RadicalReader @ReadingOverSleeping happens to me every time so easy and so much fun 9mo
Kaylamburson Welcome to Litsy!!! I hope you love it here. I feel like there were a lot of books I was disappointed by when I listened to all the buzz. Hmmm there was A Gentleman in Moscow (but I knew it wasn't my type of read and forced myself to finish it anyway), Vox, From Twinkle With Love, and Hey Ladies! were some of my recent disappointments. 9mo
