pickThe ‘spirit‘ of Batman observes his own funeral and the stories told by his colleagues and enemies about him. Neil Gaiman writes the final episode to close out decades of Batman and Action Comics. It is a masterful eulogy to the Dark Knight, and a fitting last visit to the years of adventures past, before welcoming future tales and iterations of the beloved character. Essential to any fan of comics!
I'm not entirely convinced that this final volume stuck the landing, but this was a fun, weird, freaky ride while it lasted.

so-soI dunno, I knew the storybeats already, so the amount of focus on the schism between Bruce and Dick shouldn't surprise me, but when it comes to origin stories, I prefer the moments focusing on positive growth, rather than looking back to whatever darkness may have spawned the change. Also wasn't prepared for Jason's debut to be featured, which just adds to the darker father-son relationship dynamics. 1/?
