It is so much fun reading something from my childhood. I loved watching Sailor Moon as a kid, and I enjoy reading it as an adult. I can‘t wait to read through the rest of the manga series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The ‘spirit‘ of Batman observes his own funeral and the stories told by his colleagues and enemies about him. Neil Gaiman writes the final episode to close out decades of Batman and Action Comics. It is a masterful eulogy to the Dark Knight, and a fitting last visit to the years of adventures past, before welcoming future tales and iterations of the beloved character. Essential to any fan of comics!

I'm not entirely convinced that this final volume stuck the landing, but this was a fun, weird, freaky ride while it lasted.

And I'm off the mark with #WickedWords for July. @AsYouWish

Mehso-so

I dunno, I knew the storybeats already, so the amount of focus on the schism between Bruce and Dick shouldn't surprise me, but when it comes to origin stories, I prefer the moments focusing on positive growth, rather than looking back to whatever darkness may have spawned the change. Also wasn't prepared for Jason's debut to be featured, which just adds to the darker father-son relationship dynamics. 1/?

Robotswithpersonality 2/? I'm definitely in the 'Bruce-is is-doing-his-best' camp versus the 'I demand absolute obedience from all my child soldiers' characterization camp. Happy to see Dick go back to his circus roots, to have the talk with Superman, but I guess my vision of Grayson is formed by a later iteration of Nightwing; this one feels a bit more brash and callous and it doesn't jibe well with my uniquely cobbled together sense of the character. 4w
Robotswithpersonality 3/3 Likewise getting doormat vibes from Babs and it's not a good feeling. Hard thing for any one graphic novel artist and writing team to mesh with any one fan's unique composition of Batfam canon. 🤷🏼‍♂️ 4w

A wonderful experience. Affirming, inspiring, overall even sweet in tone, with one exception. Indeed, while I picked this volume up BECAUSE I knew it had Kevin Conroy's Finding Batman story, I didn't realize what it would contain; it was the only one prefaced with a content warning. 1/?

Robotswithpersonality 2/? Batman:TAS shaped my love of the character and eventually led me to seek out other super hero stories; I am grateful Conroy was willing to share part of his own. I miss him. 🥹 1mo
Robotswithpersonality 3/3 Other highlights include Connor Hawke - the first ace hero I've encountered, getting a detective noir moment with Far Sector Green Lantern badass Sojourner Mullein, every Ivy and Harley moment, and the space given to Tim Drake's coming out journey, collecting previously published stories I hadn't caught up with. LOVED. 😍🥰🏳️‍🌈 1mo
