#HeatOfJuly #BlurredLines

Not related to the song lyrics and meaning but the cover of this book and the blurring of the lines between the different realities, what's right and what's wrong, and the choices made had me thinking of it for this prompt. 🤔

Cinfhen Well played!!!! 😀♥️ 6y
thebooksugar SUCH A GOOD BOOK! 6y

MrsToriKim I freaking love this book 6y
julia-gulia I didn't finish the book cause I honestly didn't care for the character if he lives or die or anything. .i stopped reading after 60 pages. I just didn't care for the guy 🤷 6y
DebinHawaii @julia-gulia I really liked the book without loving the MC but I totally get it. 👍 6y

I like novels with #blurredlines between the author's background and that of an author-character of the same name. J. M. Coetzee doesn't actually appear in Summertime because he's already dead: a biographer interviews people who knew him. The premise sounds indulgent but it doesn't read that way. It made me wonder- if you swapped out the name of the dead author would that make a difference? And if so, why? #HeatofJuly @BarbaraBB @Cinfhen

merelybookish You should check out. 6y
merelybookish Also have you read Knaussgard? Sounds like My Struggle is up your alley. 🙂 6y
Billypar @merelybookish Thanks for the reccs! End of Eddy sounds pretty interesting. I feel like I need to read My Struggle just because of the huge positive response and attention it's received. If you can get that response when writing several lengthy memoirs about mundane events in obsessive detail, I figure you have to be doing something right 😁 6y
Cinfhen Well played 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 6y

I haven‘t read the tagged book, but it is certainly a part of the #metoo movement where men seem to think there are #blurredlines but really their actions are quite clearly on the wrong side of the line. #heatofjuly

BarbaraBB Well said! 😘 6y

Women #blurredlines all over the place in order to trailblaze, invent, and change history for the better! This is a great little anthology about women who impacted society. #heatofjuly

This novel is on my #TBR pile as well. I love the cover art, and with the help from the editing tools, I think this picture fits with today‘s #heatofjuly challenge — #blurredlines. ☀️

Happy Thursday, Littens! ❤️

#HeatOfJuly #day5 #BlurredLines In a huge coincidence, today‘s #BookMail Pt1 has these amazing blurred lines on the cover with faces hidden in them. This is the 5th #ViragoModernClassics I‘ve added to my collection & is one of the most striking. With a foreword by Hilary Mantel, it should be a great read as well.👍

Cinfhen Oh wow 😲 stunning 🙌🏻 6y
Cathythoughts Oh that‘s really good ! Perfect cover for this prompt ❤️💙 6y
BarbaraBB I just have been eyeing that edition in my bookstore 😍 6y
