This book is hilarious. This quote made me literally laugh out loud and I had to share.
Context: the original technophobe wrote his 1400 page book outlining why the printing press the worst. This is the authors‘ (joke) response about his complaint that his fellow monks would made excuses to get out of writing books to labor outside.
It‘s always funny to me to see the people acting fairly similar to today but hundreds of years ago.
pickI LOL‘d several times over this book - it‘s great! Mikey-Cat also makes me LOL, but for totally different reasons.

Fortunate to hear the lovely author Rebecca Romney last evening and for some unknown reason I did NOT snap her photo! She is an excellent speaker so if you get the chance to hear her, go for it!
#bookmail yay! The book arrived with the dustjacket on upside down. Now, is that deliberate or just a printer (well, technically bindery) error? In either case, it seems fitting - I love it!

I've been a little absent because of a family death, but I'm back online now. I really like Romney on Pawn Stars & I'm an editor by trade, so couldn't resist saying yes to a review copy of a book about books. Looks fascinating. Although I'm sad my wineglass is empty. 🍷 @HarperBooks
