Welcome to the charming Scottish seaside town of Gandiegowwhere two people have returned home for different reasons, but to find the same thing. Caitriona Macleod gave up her career as an investigative reporter for the role of perfect wife. But after her husband is found dead in his mistresss bed, a devastated Cait leaves Chicago for the birthplace she hasnt seen since she was a child. Shes hoping to heal and to reconnect with her gran. The last thing she expects to find in Gandiegow is the Sexiest Man Alive! She just may have stumbled on the ticket to reigniting her careerif her heart doesnt get in the way. Graham Buchanan is a movie star with many secrets. A Gandiegow native, he frequently hides out in his hometown between films. He also has a son hell do anything to protect. But Cait Macleod is too damn appealingeven if she is a journalist. Quilting with her gran and the other women of the village brings Cait a peace she hasnt known in years. But if she turns in the story about Graham, Gandiegow will never forgive her for betraying one of its own. Should she suffer the consequences to resurrect her career? Or listen to her battered and bruised heart and give love another chance?

Lovely 1st book in a series about a #smalltown in #Scotland. It‘s #romantsy but also about family, community, and finding yourself when life hasn‘t gone the way you planned. I listened on audio & the accents added an extra layer of enjoyment. 💓💓💓💓💓

#AugustGrrrl #Vacation #BackToReading #IdLiveThere #day27 The next time one of you are going to Scotland, can you please just hide me in your suitcase? Please?? Scotland feels like part of my soul, I've always felt a deep connection to the country, the accents, the personality of the people.Didn't surprise me in the slightest that when I researched my family genealogy, 85% is from Scotland. With 10%English & 5%Swedish. But Scotland is my hearts home.

Cinfhen Looking at your collage makes me want to go!!!!! 7y
LauraBrook Scotland has part of my heart too, I would love to live there, but I'd settle for a visit. I'm also Scottish, though sadly not as much as you are. Hope you're feeling good today! ❤️💚😽 7y
ruthemmielang I was born there 😊❤️I haven't been back there in 11 yrs though. I miss it. 7y

Life goal achieved! @kellock lives in Scotland and brought my book to some beautiful historic scenery. The only way this could be more Scottish is if a kilt or that hot guy from Outlander was involved. Hard to explain how cool this is for me - all thanks to Litsy!

Libby1 Wow! 7y

Mehso-so

This would have been a pick if it weren't for a major subsidiary character's story arc. Not what I expected from what I thought was a cozy romance read. See below if you want the spoiler.

ScientistSam That character dies of leukemia. Depressing and not what I need in my life right now given the number of people I know with major health problems. 7y

Yesterday was a snow day but today I had to run to the bank etc for end of the month stuff. Air temp was a bit chilly. The wind was chillier. ❄🌬But at least the sun is out and I get to stay inside the rest of work.

EclecticReaders Brrrr! 7y
Soubhiville Oh! That's really cold! And I was feeling sorry for myself with 44 f in TX today. I take it back! 7y
EmilyChristine @Soubhiville Haha I think the wind chill this morning was about -40. So 44 F above is pretty warm. 😉 7y
ShelfAddiction Too cold for me! Lol. It was a wind chill of - 7 and that was too much! 7y

I really enjoyed this new to me author. The book was good but a little different for a romance book as it had many sad parts. I would love to visit this town in Scotland
