It‘s a cute lil‘ romance with a pretty low level of spice on the one hand, and a comedy about (mostly) benign ghosts on the other. I liked it pretty well, but I do wish it leaned a little spooker.

Ghosts are a part of life in Boneyard Keys, but new resident Cassie didn‘t sign up for a ghostly roommate! Nick on the other hand grew up there and is very comfortable with his ghost, who bosses him around via text and has very strong opinions about his banana bread!
This was a fun cosy romance with a sprinkling of ghosts.

While I'm a day late posting my #FallingForFallSwap pic, I was early to open it 😂 @BarkingMadRead thank you so much for everything!! I had a crap week and treated myself to a little present from you every day (which is also why there aren't as many Reese Cups in the picture as you sent 😆) I love everything!!!!
@Avanders @Chrissyreadit - Thank you so much for hosting as always!!

Not a creepy haunted house story, but I did keep picking it up at bedtime and spooky stuff would happen.
Cassie moves to this small town to get out of Orlando. When she plugs in her laptop at home, it doesn‘t charge, so she has to work at a coffee shop. This town is full of ghosts and she has a hard time at first but Nick is trying to help her acclimate. He‘s lived in town all his life and isn‘t going anywhere. It‘s a slow burn romance.

A tourist town that is genuinely, pleasantly haunted-- a good choice for #CozyReads, though there's a few nerve-wracking moments as well.
The idea of this was better than the execution for me. The pacing seemed off--the characters take ridiculously long to figure obvious things out--and the characters and romance, usually DeLuca's strength, are by the numbers. I'll probably still read the next book in hope of improvement.

Meh, it‘s not for me. Over 100 pages in, and I still don‘t have a good feel for the characters nor do I understand their attraction except that they seem to be around the same age and single. The ‘haunted‘ part of this could just be a lot cooler. A haunted town, a haunted house? All of that should be super interesting, but it‘s just not. Moving on. ✌️

I live in a tourist town and am married to a Nick who‘s an owner of a coffee shop. Seriously connecting to this book so far!

Starting this one today. We just got home from a few days at Great Wolf Lodge in Dallas (kiddo‘s been dying to go back), and #DannyBoy is so happy to be back from boarding school! He‘s been my velcro kitty most of the evening, and exceedingly vocal about my failings as a mom. Time to sit down and hold the kitty.

DNF at 75pgs
I skimmed the remainder of the book and read some spoiler reviews....I think DNF was def the right choice here!
I wanted to like this so much more than I did!
Florida is the best written character in this book..just saying!

I loved this. The cover makes it look like it would be a Halloween read but actually takes place in Florida during the summer. The ghosts that haunt the town are (mostly) friendly and playful, and there are comedic moments associated with them. The romance between Cassie and Nick is nice and doesn‘t overshadow the mystery involving the ghost that inhabits Cassie‘s house. I‘ll definitely pick up more by Jen DeLuca after this one. Lots of fun.

I‘ve been meandering my way thru this one over the past week when I can find a few minutes here and there. I‘m almost halfway thru but hoping to finish it up today or tomorrow. This is my first time reading one of Jen DeLuca‘s books.
It‘s cute so far! The ways the ghosts haunt this town are a lot of fun.

Light pick for this one. They get rid of ghost in this by telling him women can vote and he gets so mad he double dies. Just lightly girlboss a patriarchal spirit to death. A bit silly!
Also, I would NEVER stop texting the group chat about my haunted house, no matter how little they cared
You'd think ghost town-livers would recognize a possession situation when it happens to them, but maybe their ghosts are so benign that they've been left left helpless in the face of That One Asshole

"Living in a tourist town would be heaven on earth if it weren't for all the damn tourists."
I'm watching you, Florida-set book, but this is a fairly promising early sign
