I walked into a bookstore in Roanoke and this caught my eye immediately! It looks so fun, and there are elves and dwarves! What could possibly be wrong with that?!?

Today I was betrayed by someone who I thought was my friend and it could end up affecting my job. I'm more hurt than anything else so I figured escaping into this Cozy Fantasy with my Book Goblin mug full of tea might be the best way to shake it off and move on.
This was a wonderful cozy fantasy. A human baker without any magic is entered in a magical bake off. Along the way, she meets Theo, Tanya, Doli, and Jez, who all become her found family. It is a book of taking chances on friendship, family, and love. 4 stars.
I think I heard about this cozy fantasy on a book riot list. It‘s not quite as good as Legends & Lattes for me, but it‘s a sweet light story. It‘s obviously influenced by The Great British Bake-off, but with Elves, Dwarves, and Magic.
Not something that will stick with me, but a nice light read. There are a few recipes at the end. Might make you crave sweets! 😋
You will need to bake something or acquire delicious bakes goods after reading this book.
It is a cozy fantasy baking competition….
Arleta Starstone is a human, in a world where humans are the bottom of the food chain. She loves baking and dreams of wining the competition. But no human has ever been chosen to compete.
This book is filled with found family, friendship, love and delicious treats
3.25/5 stars
A very cute and cozy read, but slow. It took me a very long time to get through but when I did it was enjoyable! I loved the romance.
Here are the books I read in February. Tagged book was my favorite.
I adored this cozy fantasy romance set in a baking contest! Plus, the author included RECIPES in the back!
