Light pick. This retelling of Cinderella combines folk/fairy tales from different cultures, and I enjoyed reading the intro from this 10th anniversary edition to hear the reasons for Lo‘s decisions on the structure of the novel. Once I starting reading to catch up, I could not put this down. I had to finish! This is a new genre for me & I loved it. A whole different take on Cinderella. Ash has agency; Grief spurns her on; Ash grows into her own. True to the traditional Cinderella fairy tale, Ash is mistreated by her cruel stepmother. But she experiences kindnesses along the way: Beatrice, Gwen, & Kaisa-this helps her break away.

I've read and enjoyed some of her YA/retelling books. I enjoyed Huntress and Ash. Anyone else have any recommendations? Drop them below

I'm going to #QueerBC May-May so I'll refresh the author list then and I'll do some feedback stuff March/April to see how to improve it
