A Stitch in Time
A Stitch in Time | Kelley Armstrong
Thorne Manor has always been hauntedand it has always haunted Bronwyn Dale. As a young girl, Bronwyn could pass through a time slip in her great-aunt's house, where she visited William Thorne, a boy her own age, born two centuries earlier. After a family tragedy, the house was shuttered and Bronwyn was convinced that William existed only in her imagination. Now, twenty years later Bronwyn inherits Thorne Manor. And when she returns, William is waiting. William Thorne is no longer the boy she remembers. Hes a difficult and tempestuous man, his own life marred by tragedy and a scandal that had him retreating to self-imposed exile in his beloved moors. Hes also none too pleased with Bronwyn for abandoning him all those years ago. As their friendship rekindles and sparks into something more, Bronwyn must also deal with ghosts in the present version of the house. Soon she realizes they are linked to William and the secret scandal that drove him back to Thorne Manor. To build a future, Bronwyn must confront the past.

Mehso-so

When I was 12 years old or so, I was obsessed with a time travel romance book called “Prisoner of Time” by Caroline B. Cooney. If you change the characters from teens to adults and add in a touch more steaminess, then you have this book. The story is pretty forgettable, but the nostalgia factor in re-creating a story I loved as a girl made it a fun read for me. 3.5 stars

I love Kelley Armstrong's mysteries (the Rockton series and the tagged), this is something totally new and this premise sounds freaking adorable!

Time travel romance with a haunted manor where the ghosts add a splash of mystery.

First in a series.

Low pick. But I cannot say why exactly, maybe because I'm not intrigued enough to pick up the next book.

Thoroughly enjoying this ebook about travel between two periods of time. It‘s a romance ♥️ and a ghost/haunted house, and mystery story all rolled into one.

Later this month @VioletCavalier and @hkapusta will be discussing it! Our own mini book club.

julesG What a coincidence, I've listened to this two days ago. (and still have to review it) 2y
CrowCAH @julesG oh wow that‘s cool! Great minds… Hopefully you enjoyed it. 2y

#ThoughtfulThursday Thanks @Eggs for the tag!

🌙 kissing the stuffies before heading out the bedroom to start my day

🌙 yes! I try to keep it to a chapter. That works at the beginning of a book. Then it‘s multiple chapters!

🌙 total quiet. If a TV is on or people are talking, it‘s more difficult to actually fall asleep.

A wonderful story that includes mystery, romance, time travel, ghosts, and cats! Even though parts of the story was predictable, it was in all the best ways. The mystery part took some unexpected turns that kept me wanting to read.

Just got this book recommendation from @hkapusta and it sounds amazing! Lots of genres rolled into to one: mystery, thriller, time travel, romance, gothic.

AutumnRLS Sounds so good! Definitely TBR-ing it. I remember liking Armstrong's earlier paranormal romances. 2y
CrowCAH @AutumnRLS I agree, sounds intriguing! Glad you recommend the author! 2y

I really liked this. There was more romance than I normally read, but there was enough ghosts, mystery, and time travel to make up for that. Some of the ghost happenings were creepy. I felt badly for the poor neglected kitten, Enigma. Kitty was supposedly too young to be away from mom, but since Bronwyn wasn‘t around for hours and hours at at time, I worried that Enigma would die without milk. The mystery was good and I loved the creepy hauntings

Finished this one last night. I was so worried towards the end of this book that it wasn‘t classified as a romance! There were angry ghosts and murder, mysterious moors and time travel. And lots of kittens!

I‘m glad I picked this one up and really enjoyed it.

Book 2 finished for #FabulousFebruary

Words cannot adequately describe how much I loved this book! In general, I restrict most of my #audiobook listens to biographies, books I‘ve already read with my eyeballs, or easy listening cozy mysteries where it won‘t matter if I miss some of it because my mind tends to wander a tad while doing chores. I chose this not knowing much about & with few expectations and I‘ve had the hardest time putting this down this week & I found it engrossing. ⬇️

JenlovesJT47 It mixes multiple genres and it does it beautifully. Bronwyn is a professor in Toronto who has just inherited Thorne Manor from her aunt in England. She hasn‘t been back since she was 15. She used to spend summers there and discovered when she was a child that there was a “time stitch” in her bedroom that allowed her to travel back to the 1800s in Victoria England, where she befriended William Thorne, who is the same age as her. They become ⬇️ 3y
JenlovesJT47 Close friends, and she continues to visit him over the years. He grows as she grows and they are the same age. When she is 15, after coming back from a visit with him, she starts seeing ghosts, and one ghost in particular wants to get her away from him and it ends up resulting in the death of her uncle. Her mother puts her in an institution for a bit and she convinces herself that William and these ghosts are all in her head. She doesn‘t ⬇️ 3y
JenlovesJT47 Return to Thorne Manor until she is 38, after the death of her aunt. She is widowed herself. She soon falls back in time and finds herself in Thorne Manor of the 1850s again where she learns William is very real indeed. They repair their relationship and become romantic. Back in her own time, between visits with William, she begins to see several ghosts who are trying to tell her something. Rumors abound for 150 years about mysterious ⬇️ 3y
JenlovesJT47 Disappearances at Thorne Manor which are still talked about by the locals, some attributing them to William. It becomes apparent to her that there is quite a murder mystery connected with this house and it‘s up to her to unravel. This kept me on the edge of my seat last night and is one of the most engrossing audiobooks I‘ve ever listened to. The mixing of genres is done so well, and while I love the time travel/historical/romantic aspect of it,⬇️ 3y
JenlovesJT47 My favorite part actually has to be the ghost aspect, which is so well done and creepy as &$c! The narrator is fabulous and does a great job with the various voices and accents. I was thrilled to learn there is a book 2 coming out later this year. I‘m seriously having to stop myself from fangirling over this book, it is that good. I‘d give it 10 stars if I could. Highly highly recommended! #historicalfiction #timetravel #paranormal 3y
