Bailed. Not for me. Tried the audiobook and it was DEFINITELY not for me. Didn‘t feel the chemistry people talk about, though I liked the dates and fun dialogue. Just meh

Here's what you need to know about this book. I smiled all the way through. A lot. I mean a LOT. I laughed. No, I giggled. And then I cried, but then I was very happy again.

What more could you need to know?

A Sweet Mess
@TheSpineView
And with this DNF I will no longer be following this series. I loved the first book, A Sweet Mess, but this one just didn't grab me. The "romance" was more about lust and honestly both of them kind of got on my nerves. I found myself putting off picking it up and my goal for this year was to allow myself to DNF when I'm not enjoying a book.

TheSpineView Totally agree with you on DNF. Life is too short not to enjoy what I read!🤩📖📚 8mo

Reading goal is 50 books (@ least), one nonfiction a month, several challenges, and gunna focus more on my physical books!

Hopeful!

The tagged book is ok. I'm listening to it, but dunno if I'll finish it before it returns to the library (and dunno if I'll recheck it out) 🤷‍♀️

A game of Truth or Dare leads to a series of dates between Tara and her best friend's brother-in-law, Seth. The chemistry between the two characters was fantastic, but I got frustrated that the tension was that Tara was so opposed to love that she wasn't able to notice that she was in love and in a relationship until it was gone.

2. The Addams Family (the 1991 movie)

3. Oh boy, I literally have a tag in my book tracker called blame it on litsy. The last one I finished was The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones. The next two on the list are Well Matched by Jen DeLuca and Beginners by Tom Vanderbilt.

This #audiobook is the second in a series- but I don‘t think that impacted the overall storyline since this is more of a spin-off than a genuine sequel as the main characters from the first book play minor roles. Tara and Seth feel unexpected sparks at a wedding, leading to the titular dare- four dates but no falling in love- a casual arrangement to suit them both. But not all goes to plan- a bit more of a physical romance than I prefer though.

Good. Even though this book is second in a series it can be read as a stand alone book as it doesn't really refer back to past events just gets on with the story. A decent concept of a typical romance story but nothing that stands out. Thank you #StMartinsPress for inviting me to read this via #Netgalley.

DNF. I‘ve decided life is too short, and when you‘re on Chapter 5 (26%) of a book that you have NO connection to whatsoever, throw in the towel. 🏳 I have forced myself to finish arcs before that I didn‘t enjoy because I knew I‘d feel guilty if I didn‘t, but I‘m turning over a new leaf. NOTE: This was the second in series of which I had not read the first. The writing itself was OK. I did not connect with the characters AT ALL. The female lead 🔻

robinb was a 28 yo who lived at home with her parents (along with her 30 yo twin brothers). She struck me as shallow and immature (more like a teenager than an adult woman). The male lead was slightly better as at least he seemed to be a little more mature (at 25). 🔻 1y
robinb I don‘t enjoy and quite frankly am tired of fluff romances that are only filled with the mind-boggling beauty of the leads, their obsessive thoughts of sex and their immature banter/innuendos/conversations. Just not for me, and since I DNF I won‘t rate it here. 🔻 (edited) 1y
robinb Cute cover. 😂😂🤷🏻‍♀️ 1y
Christy2318 I DNF everything I‘m not enjoying. There are too many other books to slog along. 1y

I absolutely loved this one! A great romcom about trying to stay casual in the face of an overwhelming attraction. Just the right balance of heat and heart. Out Aug 2! Thanks LibroFM for the ALC!

Tera66 I loved the first book A Sweet Mess, can't wait for this one!😊 1y
rachelm @Tera66 I didn‘t even read the first one but I loved the characters it was about in this book ❤️ 1y

So cute! Jayci Lee does such an amazing job incorporating Tara's Asian heritage, but not in an overwhelming way. It's just normal everyday things, but that just happen to be Asian; I love it! Anyways, back to the story itself; Tara and Seth are both fun and I loved the way they slowly came together. It was good to see an update on Audrey and Landon, plus a guess who the next couple up will be (I have my guess).

rachelm I hadn‘t read the first book in the series and I was still able to love this one! Who do you think the next book is going to be about? One of her brothers? 1y
Preciouz29 @rachelm yes! Next one has got to be about one of the brothers! And I‘m guessing Aubrey‘s employee! 1y
rachelm Ohhh you might be right! 1y
