⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 this is the best resource for teaching. I try and reread parts of it every year and it never fails to prepare me for the upcoming school year!

I‘ve been at New Teacher Induction at school this week and they have us a big goodie bag! And they said to try to read all the books before school starts... I‘ve already had to read First Days of School in college, but it‘ll be a fun 2 weeks getting ready for school!!

I was cleaning and came across this letter from a student among the cards and notes I received when I retired from teaching six years ago. For all the #teachersofLitsy who have just returned/are soon to return to school, a little reminder of why we do what we do. I may be retired, but I will always be a teacher.

Nerdy_Bookworm Oh my goodness, this made me cry! 😭😭😭 5y

After observing in a classroom taught by one of the teachers who I admire the most, I asked how she even knows where to begin. She handed me this book and said “read it. I read it every year for the first few years and I go back to it often.” And so I did. And I‘m grateful for that advice. This is her copy, so I‘ll be returning it and purchasing my own.

We are moving back into the school this weekend. Still a lot of work to do on the first floor, but so glad to be back in my classroom. (My room is on the second floor, so minimal damage).

Almost done taking notes on this book! Not as helpful as Teach Like a Champion, but I'm still getting some good ideas.
