I'm getting caught up on Trixie this month and this one was a struggle. 😂 I think that's why I got behind -- I just didn't like this one. When the kids don't listen to Trixie, it drives me crazy. Trixie put herself in danger, then Mr. Wheeler insists the girls stay at the hotel, alone, to rest. Are you kidding?! And then the girls GET IN A CAR WITH STRANGERS. Also, I don't believe any kid has ever actually loved Tom Sawyer as much as Mart Belden.

Sparklemn I really need to catch up with you all on the series. All I remember about this book is that I didn‘t like it. 🤷🏼‍♀️😉 1mo

so-so

I personally found this to be one of the weakest of the series so far. The plot was really choppy and a bit random (gun runners??) and, more aggravating, the gang just felt like they kept making really dumb decisions? Let's get in a boat with a stranger!! Let's go swimming all alone when the pool is closed and no one is around!! Let's leave Trixie & Honey alone in the hotel after we said the hotel wasn't safe!! Let's run off with two people we ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) barely know and don't really trust!! Honey felt bonus air-headed in a way that just didn't fit her personality to me. There were some fun shenanigans,, but this one definitely felt like a different writer from the last few.

Did the rest of you like it better than me??

lauraisntwilder To be honest, I keep putting this one down and not wanting to pick it back up. What teenager, in any decade, would have been hellbent on getting to ride down the Mississippi? Especially a group of teens from NY who literally just competed in a boat race in the Atlantic? 2mo

Finished Sunday for July‘s #BobWhiteBuddies this one (#15) & Trixie & the gang are visiting Mark Twain country—St. Louis & the Mississippi River when mysterious papers left in her hotel room by the previous occupant soon have her & the Bob-Whites mixed up in some very dangerous dealings. This one I remembered a lot of—probably because Trixie gets in over her head. Also I get very frustrated when the group splits up ⬇️

DebinHawaii @TheBookHippie @CBee Thanks, friends for the concern! Yeah, it moved to a warning from a watch & they are taking it pretty seriously so far. The earliest it would hit here is 7:17 PM do we have a few hours to figure it out. I‘m just outside of the evac zone so I‘ll wait a little & if I think I need to, drive in a few streets. I haven‘t written my haiku today so this may be the subject! 😳 3mo

Spending my #HyggeHour finishing up this Trixie Belden book I started last week for #BobWhiteBuddies along with a lilikoi bar & sparkling water (it‘s warm & humid tonight). Also watching Legally Blonde because I need something fluffy to watch.

Mood is fine. Not really looking forward to Monday & another crazy week. (How is it almost August?)

When the Bob-Whites get the chance to travel the Mississippi, they couldn‘t be happier. Then Trixie & Honey find a bundle of papers that lead them to a mystery bigger than anything they‘ve seen before.

Wow! This was much higher stakes than we usually get in this series. But also the whole group acting more responsibly when higher authorities get involved. You‘d think everyone would be more trusting of Trixie‘s instincts by now, though. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
