An adorable vintage book with lovely illustrations. It reminded me of other favorites like Racketty-Packetty House. 😊 #childrensclassicread2020

What a fun, relaxing read. A little girl's imagination contains so much magic to fulfill her day. It was just wonderful. The illustrations were adorable. Thank you @TheBookHippie #ChildrensClassicReads2020 @Reviewsbylola #ClassicsChallenge2020

There‘s my copy 📗🥫💚

#childrensclassicread2020

But one day, out in the alley, Twig found an empty tomato can, with pictures of bright red tomatoes all round it. When it was upside down, it looked like a pretty little house, just the right size for a fairy! Twig stood it upside down next to the dandelion, not far from the stream. And this is the story of what happened in and around that little house one Saturday afternoon..

This is a delightful little story about the wonder of imagination and all the interesting things you can find in your own backyard, even if all it contains is a weed and an old tomato can. Reminiscent of The Wizard of Oz as well. #ChildrensClassicRead2020 #AtoZLitsy (Letter T)

#CHILDRENSCLASSICREAD2020 APRIL

My library closed before I could pick up my copy, so I ordered one. It arrived today and I am excited to start reading it with my morning coffee. 📗💚
This book is from 1942. It‘s been reprinted.

GingerAntics I haven‘t been able to find a copy of this 4y
marleed It‘s adorable! 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics I know, it was available at my library- then I had to use one of my amazon gift cards 🤣 it makes me sooooo sad I thought it was easier to get! 4y

GingerAntics I completely forgot what book it was for March. What‘s the May book? I‘ll start working on it now. 4y
LinesUponAPage Okay that cover is adorable!!! I want a copy too! Lol 4y
GingerAntics A Little Pretty Pocket-Book is listed as a “professional & technical” book on Apple Books. From the description, they‘ve clearly mislabelled. lol 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics oh my. Good grief! 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics A Little Pretty Pocket-Book by John Newberry is the first book created exclusively for children ever written. I read this book for my Children‘s Literature English class. It was full of rules for behaviors and sayings that teach morals. It is a really interesting read and insightful look into the 1800‘s. If you are looking for some silly poems this is a fun book to read. 📘That‘s what drew me to it! 4y
LinesUponAPage @TheBookHippie now its out of stock... :( thanks for trying to help. :) 4y
GingerAntics Maybe that‘s why they‘ve labelled it as such. It‘s a technical book for childhood. 😂 4y
rubyslippersreads For anyone who doesn‘t mind ebooks, it‘s available for Kindle (and free if you have Kindle Unlimited.) 4y
TheBookHippie @rubyslippersreads thanks I thought so when I originally picked it!! 4y
TheBookHippie @Lifeisasnap @rubyslippersreads stares it‘s on kindle aha kindle unlimited @GingerAntics when I set this up last year I thought I had made sure you could get them online ebook somewhere. Good luck! 4y
GingerAntics I‘ll have to see if amazon is playing nicely today. Amazon and I are having a good old fashioned row...since about a year ago now. We may need a divorce. 4y
