actually… I killed Zoe Spanos 🤫

This one was alright, nothing grand, felt like it was lacking something to give it a more pizzazz. I just felt like I've heard this story before, and it wasn't surprising, but it was still a good murder mystery! 3/5

Anna Cicconi, recent arrival to a small town, has confessed to the murder of missing teen Zoe Spanos. Martina, friend of Zoe‘s younger sister, who runs the Missing Zoe podcast isn‘t entirely sure that‘s true. What you get is an unreliable narrator and another one who is determined to find out the truth.
This is a slower paced book, it‘s a lot of weeding out answers and digging into the past to discover just what happened to Zoe and why.

This was a really good book. I can never predict the end of mysteries and this time was no different. I think for a more experienced mystery reader it would have been slightly more obvious. And the last chapter was just 🤯.

It‘s taken me a while to get a picture that shows this book in all its naked hard back beauty. It still doesn‘t do the book justice, so you‘ll have to take my word for it. This is probably the prettiest book that I own and it‘s the only one with sprayed edges. 😍

This YA mystery kept me engaged, but I certainly wouldn't classify it as a thriller. The ending felt sloppy to me, like the author had written herself into a corner that she couldn't successfully get out of. But the characters and setting were very strong

I imagine it was meant to be suspenseful and tense. I found it overdrawn, repetitive, and disjointed.

This book was too disjointed and awkward to draw me in properly. I was bored and I didn't connect with any of the characters. I also didn't find the ending to be realistic. The best part of the book was the blue page edges.

I enjoyed the mystery though parts of it were definitely confusing. It all came to a good conclusion in the end even if I did suspect parts of the end. I expected more of the podcast as it was definitely advertised as being what I felt was a bigger part of the book.

There were so many red herrings thrown in that it kept me second-guessing myself until the very end. The unreliability of the main character wasn't malevolent, which was kind of a refreshing twist. I finished this book earlier this morning. This is a twisty tale that kept me guessing until the end. Who killed Zoe Spanos? When Anna shows up in the Hamptons to be a nanny for the summer everyone is surprised at how much she looks like Zoe. But she doesn‘t know her. When she starts to have flash backs about the night Zoe died. She becomes worried. She didn‘t think she knew Zoe but maybe that‘s not really true. I didn‘t see the ending coming.

Anna gets a summer nanny job in a small Hampton village called Heron Mills where everyone keeps mistaking her for missing girl, Zoe Spanos.

This YA thriller was hard to put down. If you enjoyed Sadie then you‘ll enjoy this book. It had a similar elements as Sadie with the missing girl and podcast. This story is told in multiple POVs which I enjoyed, it made the story more rounded for me. Really enjoyed the characters and writing.

I don‘t judge a book by its cover, but it is often the aspect that entices me into taking a look at the synopsis. In this case, however, I already knew this was a book that I was interested in reading. And the cover IS pretty cool. But it wasn‘t the cover or the synopsis that convinced me I needed to buy this one sooner than later. It was the blue sprayed page edges! The visual stimulation was impossible to resist!

I was so annoyed at BN canceling my order last night I forgot to show off my #bookhaul. Two of those are not susposed to be out until next week but..

Plus I wasn‘t planning on buying the tagged book but the blue spayed edges just spoke to me.

One of the best YA Thrillers I have read in a long time! From the beginning of this story it kept me guessing on what was really going on all the way till the end.

Anna believes she killed Zoe Spanos she doesnt remember quite how it happened but she knows she did it.
