He constantly strove for fame and riches and made up much of his life story - from his childhood to his time in the military, and even how many children he had. The author does a good job untangling the stories Screamin' Jay told to provide an honest look at the singer's life.

I don‘t mention it very often, but my father-in-law was a career journalist and in retirement has published half a dozen books. His latest books are all about lesser know R&B artists. ðŸ“š ðŸ‘¨ðŸ»â€ðŸ’» ðŸŽ¼

We stopped by this badass little record shop next to Maya‘s middle school after dinner tonight, and it had her grandpa‘s latest book on the shelves! He signed it for a lucky customer. ðŸŽ¶ What a wonderful family moment!
