The Devil Colony: A Sigma Force Novel | James Rollins
11 posts | 32 read | 5 to read
The gruesome discovery of hundreds of mummified bodies deep in the Rocky Mountainsalong with strange artifacts inscribed with an unfathomable scriptstirs controversy and foments unrest. And when a riot at the dig site results in the horrible death of an anthropologist captured by television cameras, the government focuses its attention on an escaped teenage agitatorthe firebrand niece of Sigma Force director Painter Crowe. To protect her, Crowe will ignite a war across the nation's most powerful intelligence agencies. But the dark events have set in motion a frightening chain reaction: a geological meltdown that threatens the entire western half of the U.S. And the unearthed truth could topple governments, as Painter Crowe joins forces with Commander Gray Pierce to penetrate the shadowy heart of a sinister cabal that has been manipulating American history since the founding of the thirteen colonies.

Well this read was a hoot, and just what I needed while sheltering in place — pure fluff. This is the first Rollins title I‘ve read.

Nanotechnology threatening to meltdown out West, a devilish secret society, Native American mythology scrambled by LDS historical references, golden plates, Coptic jars, hunky good guys and gals ... what‘s not to like?

Read on Libby, which I than g-d for every day since our Library closed.

Could the founding of America be based on a fundamental lie, one coded in secrets that stretch back to before the birth of Christ, to a mystery buried in the prehistoric past? The truth lies hidden within the ruins of a place known only as: THE DEVIL COLONY. Book is full of history, mystery, action & suspenseful adventure. Part I enjoyed most was history about the early settlers of the US and the discoveries of Lewis and Clark. recommended!

Andrew65 Great review and I totally agree. 4y

This is one big book! A very big story and you need to take your time reading it but it is well worth the effort. I loved this book from cover to cover and like the historical backdrop to this book. The plot moves along well and plenty of action throughout the book, and leaves at the end of the book on a big twist and cliffhanger. I‘ve heard it took two years to write and can believe it.
Took in 12th European country, Iceland. #ReadingEurope2020

There are plenty of #Bones of #Ancestors uncovered here in the seventh installment of the Sigma Force series! It‘s an exciting addition with set up for more adventure ahead! My favorite new character? An Australian Cattle Dog who steals the show! #ChillingPhotoChallenge #TeamStoker 11pts #ScreanathonPhotoChallenge #DogsOfLitsy

I FINALLY caught up with the Sigma Force series & Order of the Sanguines trilogy!! This pic doesn't show 2 of the instalments 'cause they're still in transit. But James Rollins is one of my fav action-adventure authors. His stuff is always sooo well researched and wonderfully executed. I tend to devour his books in 1-2 sittings!!

EllaBella Love, love, love Order Of The Sanguines 😍😍😍 6y
BiblioNyan @EllaBella I read the prequel novella and the first book in the series and I enjoyed them. Much darker than Rollins‘ other stuff. 😊 6y
