Definitely enjoying the cooler temperatures today.

📕I will finish the Matt Helm today. I picked it up at a FLL along with the James Bond books last week.

📘Handling Sin is my last #Roll100 for September and a bit of a struggle.

📗Loving my revisit to Brideshead for #HashtagBrigade and am reading far, far ahead of planned as a result.

Leftcoastzen 🥰love Brideshead 5d
Ruthiella @Leftcoastzen It‘s a true classic.👌 5d
RamsFan1963 I remember the Matt Helm movies with Dean Martin. He's played like an American James Bond, Martin wasn't much of an actor, but they could still be enjoyed for their campiness. 5d
Ruthiella @RamsFan1963 I used to love Dean Martin-Jerry Lewis movies as a kid. 😅 Apparently the Matt Helm movies were quite different from the books. But for sure I can see a tie to Fleming‘s Bond, who is also quite different from his film counterpart. (edited) 5d

Nightfall really has little worry for herself and her sole focus is Loid, which is certainly odd but pales to Yuri's almost borderline infatuation with his sister. Just when I thought he could be ok, he does something a little unhinged like in this volume's case he was able to pinpoint Yor from a scent and sound of her footprint... From her accent and sound of her footfall.
Like I know he's fictional but creeper.

This volume is back with the action adventure I was hoping for.

Nothing against Anya but sometimes she takes away from the original plot but anyways this volume was more of Loid being his operative self and hunting down a mole in their midst.

All in all this was a good volume and thanks to that illegal cliffhanger, I'm off to find the next volume at the library.

I have such a love-hate relationship with this manga (and the series overall). Like you can tell it's kinda stuck in the time that it was made attitude-wise but by god did I always crack the heck up when I read it....

Stars (out of 5): 3.75

Garterbelt is even more unhinged in the manga than in the anime, which is something that I never thought possible.

Aside from a small diversion about Loid, this was mostly about Anya and her classmates on a fieldtrip gone wrong and boy does it go WRONG!

All in all some good character growth and back to the general story but what is up with that ending... the difference is literally a night and day difference and I'm very interested to know more.

Actually Vol. 13…

Fantastic, heart-pounding, world-on-the-edge-of-total-destruction conclusion to a great series. Jinwoo Sung has one last battle to fight and it‘s going to take everything he has to save the people he loves…oh yeah, and the world too. Epic battles, snarky bad guys (lots and lots of them), and tough decisions. Super fun read and best of all the story is going to continue with a new generation. Can‘t wait to read more!

I think this is going to be a running theme in this series

I think it‘s just time to admit that I really enjoy sports manga—even when I don‘t particularly like the sport at the center of the story. 😬🤷‍♀️ This series continues to be very entertaining as a group of young soccer players compete in a series of team & individual challenges in order to become the best striker in Japan. Surprisingly tense, filled will rivalries, betrayals, camaraderie & more this is a fun, really readable story.
