Self Love
Self Love: Finding Peace and Happiness | Akal Pritam
13 posts | 2 read | 3 to read
This book is an intriguing guide to being your true self. Self-love has become part of our language, especially the language of women. Self Love is visually layered with dharma art, expressing the many layers of the complex divine feminine. It offers a visual journey that is like the life of a woman--an intricate tapestry of color and beauty woven with love. The dharma art on each page presents visual, poetic, and practical offerings to guide each reader as they immerse themselves in self-love, compassion, forgiveness, and an expanded perspective. In this Aquarian Age of multi-layered communication, technology, and greater awareness, the human collective is evolving rapidly. This age is all about energy--particularly the expansive energy that is the vibration of true love flooding through our world. As the reader learns about the chakras and the aura, which is used as a container for the understanding of emotions, they will understand how subtle energy within the body can be trusted, harnessed, and utilized for well-being. Self Love provides practical ways to work with the seven main chakras and aura, the energy of the moon, the elements, the seasons, crystals, aromatherapy, mantras and mudras, and the art of making love, along with healthy plant-based recipes and cleansing and self-nurturing practices. Created intuitively from the author's own truth and experiences, the words and visual messages in Self Love speak empathetically to all, especially women, who will each return to the beauty and layers within the book and glean new understandings and guidance. Self-loving is the best way to get up to speed with light and to attract these "love" photons to embody positive change. "Your life is meant to feel good, it is meant to be fun, and it is meant to be exciting. You are a most wonderful, beautiful human being; it's time to realize this and take a deeper journey to self-love." --from the book

D: Leider konnte mich das Buch nicht ganz überzeugen, die Aufmachung ist zwar super schön, macht aber den Inhalt, dem der rote Faden fehlt, nicht besser.

E: Unfortunately, the book could not quite convince me, the presentation is indeed very nice, but makes the content that lacks the common thread, not better.

Yeah this is a huge NOPE from me. I tired I really did but there is no way this book was going to be finished, it really was a waste of $40. Bad medical advice, transphobic in parts and just too far in the clouds. Save yourself money. If you‘re desperate to read it borrow it don‘t buy it.

Nevermore88 What a waste!. Can you give examples from the book of things you mentioned above? 5y
Nevermore88 Never mind I saw your other post! Lol 5y
Darklunarose @Nevermore88 the post under this hilights some of the bad medical advice..... the oage in the chapter on vishuddah that places women as nothing more then a womb or womb-an as she puts it, is bioessentialism and excludes transwomen. I just finished showing a trans loved one that oage and they were cringing and in agreement that this book excludes any woman without a uterus. 5y

Darklunarose @Nevermore88 it‘s all good! I class myself as an intersectional feminist. Trans issues are very close to my heart as a loved one is trans. I get fried up about it! 5y
Nevermore88 I totally understand chica. I have gays, trans friends and family close to my heart as well. But yes I read your comment and your other post and this book is caca 💩. 5y
Darklunarose @Nevermore88 tell me about it! I‘d be dead without my medications! 5y

And when a book tells you that you‘re better off not using medical help...then I have a big issue 😡😡😡

Still slowly working my way through this book. Thank god for headphones with noise cancellation to block the noise out.

Still plodding along with this one, and I mean plodding. I‘m not really enjoying it but as I paid $40 for it I am determined to finish it.

When you have a cat and the little demon keeps killing your book marks you end up cutting the pretty dangly bits off 😒 there is a reason her nickname is princess demon muffin!

Not too far in and I‘m a little concerned that there seems to be a portion of cultural appropriation in here....something I‘m not at all comfortable with. I shall plot on and see how it goes.
