I just love the library so much. This year makes 125 years of the New York Public Library. The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats is the most checked out book in all those years. (My teacher used to read us his books!) NYPL made a special edition card to celebrate.
I've been a member of the library for almost my whole life, and I can't express how grateful I am that we have public libraries, and I am so lucky to live only a block away from one.

The New York Public Library listed their Top 10 checkouts of all time. This 1962 book is one of the most circulated books at the NYPL in every neighborhood it serves. It was my favorite when I was a kid and I always recommend it to friends when they start building libraries for their kids.

I really enjoy the authors choice of words to describe Peter‘s actions as he plays in the snow. “Crunch, crunch, crunch” This is a great read aloud opportunity for young children. This book really makes children feel like they are there with Peter playing in the snow!

This is a great story for kindergarteners and 1st graders. This was a very popular book when I was this young. Its a great story for the wintertime to introduce snow into the classroom. Young kids will find this story very creative and interesting.

I love the use of color in this illustration. I enjoy how there are curvy lines within one color to give shading.

This book was really cute! I thought it was funny when the child felt like the snowball would be safe in his pocket when we as adults know that realistic factor that the snowball would melt instantly. I would use this book in my classroom to read during the winter as a fun book!
