1. F@#$ no.
2. Sitting in my warm house, with a hot cup of coffee, reading a good book, occasionally looking out the window and being glad to not be out in the snow.

I‘d never read this picture book classic before this year. I loved the simplicity and the sense of wonder, and I also adored all the rich colours in the illustrations. Love the iconic red snowsuit.

When I think of seasonal books & #red I think about Peter‘s red snowsuit in The Snowy Day. It‘s one of my favorite children‘s books & I coveted that read snowsuit.😍 I loved when they brought out the Forever stamps honoring the book & author a few years ago. Red book 📕❤️
Finally have the courage to start posting again. Winter is my favorite time of year ☃️
1) The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats. Cute children‘s picture book.
2) Yes!! It‘s beautiful to see freshly laid snow in the morning.
3) Snow & Rose by Emily Winfield Martin. A retelling I‘ve been dying to get my hands on. Looks stunning too.

Whelp, looks like it‘s a reading day.
The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats is a realistic fiction story that won a Caldecott Metal. This story is about a young boy named Peter that wakes up to find heavy snowfall. Excited to play, Peter goes outside in his red snow clothes. Although Peter is too young to play in a snowball fight, he finds his own fun in making snow angels and snowmen. This story would be great for an author study because there is so much to learn about Keats and how he
The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats is a RF book and a Caldecott Medal Winner. It is a book about a little boy waking up to snow in his neighborhood and exploring. He packs some snow in his pocket to use the next day but wakes up to find it gone! Luckily it had snowed even more that night. Sweet book and I love the illustrations! Good for young readers.
Gift - I bought some new undies. I‘ve decided this year I‘m replacing all my undies. 🩲
Date - I had lunch and shopping with my SO daughter
Reread The Snowy Day - my fav childhood book
I‘ve started spring cleaning my living room. I hope to finish it up today.
To be fair - I nap on most days. 😴
The current view from my window. I have to leave for work in an hour. I can honestly say, I‘ve never looked forward to anything less. My BIL texted me this morning that our parking lot at work hadn‘t been plowed. But that was around 6-I‘m hoping they‘ve gotten to it by now. Pretty sure the snow is deeper than my boots.
It snowed like 6 inches in Portland this weekend. Charlie is not thrilled. I, on the other hand, have the perfect excuse to snuggle up on the couch and read. Ha! Like I really need an excuse?

After unearthing our car, a snowball flew my way. What a delight to engage in a snowball fight!
Still snowing... I have no intentions of going out there until the landlord moves the snow away ⛄️
Front door view... debating on whether or not I should shovel now or later... the books are calling louder than the shovel... 😂
Stay safe and comfy, fellow northeasterners!!!
NBR. My Christmas wish for snow came true today-the biggest flake clusters I‘ve seen in a long time❄️❄️ Good day for warm beverages, blankets, and books. Have a blessed day!

One of my favorite kids books of all time!
1. I do not live somewhere with snow, but this is the last time I was in WI in the winter. Me and my mom skiing in 2018. I miss snow too!
2. Yes! I think 4... My first few years were not very active, but love Litsy! I love having endless suggestions for fabulous books to read and the amazing litsy community 🥰

1. Not anymore, but this photo is from when I lived in northern VA a few years ago (maybe 2016?). My Lil D used to love bounding around in the snow.
2. 4 years? I love the friendships I‘ve made. ❤️❤️❤️
The post office had The Snow Day stamps when I went in for holiday stamps. Did I have to buy a book of stamps of a childhood favorite by an author best known for bringing multiculturalism and black characters into children's literature? Yes. Absolutely.

Nov 25 Prompt: Children‘s books. I am so very thankful for all of the children‘s books that have come into my life. I had very few books as a kid. The Snowy Day was my favorite book as a child. I absolutely loved it then and today. What are your favorite children‘s books?

What are your favourite books from childhood? One of mine is The Snowy Day. And my teddy bear had been with me for nearly 50 years. He‘s very special!

The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats is the perfect RA to help students during winter months to visualize wonder and joy of the first snowfall. Follow Peter as he puts on his red snowsuit and ventures out to make a snowman, snow angles, and even a snowball to bring home. In 1963 Keats received Caldecott Medal for his beautiful art work. Make sure to read this RF and share in the magic Keats creates. #ucflae3414su20
Using my puzzle as a “reading mat” for the grandkids 😃 if these kids don‘t love to read, it‘s not their moms‘, aunts‘ or gramma‘s fault! My daughter, a 1st grade teacher and mother of 2 (4 & 1)is expanding her home and school library to include more racially inclusive and anti racism books, I‘d like to do the same. Do you have suggestions for must have books? The kids right now are 6 & under. #grammaslibrary #blacklivesmatter #antiracism
It‘s beginning to look a lot like...well, not April 17th, that‘s for sure! The view from the 2nd floor of my hospital.
The Snowy Day winner of the Caldecott Award is a RF picture book that is about the adventures of Peter on a snowy day. The authors illustrations and choice of words is what really bring the book to life which makes it a great RA book, it can also be used while teaching science in the classroom. UDL 3.1- Activate or supply background knowledge. ESOL Strategy 4- Link lesson topic to students‘ prior knowledge.#UCFLAE3414SP20
My favorite book as a child was The Snowy Day!
I started a Seuss challenge last year and have a few books to finish in that. Plus I‘ll be reading a few additional fairy tales too. Maleficent isn‘t my favorite Disney character. I loved how she turned into a dragon. I wanted to BE her when I was a kid.

The Snowy Day is a RF that perfectly encapsulates childhood. As Peter goes through his snow day he encounters snow mountains and creates snowman. This Caldecott Winner captures the simplicity of childhood while also showcasing the amazing imagination that children possess. This picture book is excellent for a RA, as teachers could truly make it come alive with their voice and facilitate text to self connections. #UCFLAE3414SP20
"There was a teacher [who] wrote in to Ezra, saying, 'The kids in my class, for the first time, are using brown crayons to draw themselves.' " Pope told NPR. "These are African-American children. Before this, they drew themselves with pink crayons. But now, they can see themselves."

I just love the library so much. This year makes 125 years of the New York Public Library. The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats is the most checked out book in all those years. (My teacher used to read us his books!) NYPL made a special edition card to celebrate.
I've been a member of the library for almost my whole life, and I can't express how grateful I am that we have public libraries, and I am so lucky to live only a block away from one.
It‘s nice to see so many children‘s books on the list! How many have you read? Article: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/13/books/ny-public-library-top-books-history.htm...
1. Yes. We are supposed to get several inches today.
2. Laying on the couch in comfy clothes, covered in fuzzy blankets, with an Izzy on top. No specific genres or books as long as it‘s good I can get cozy.

The New York Public Library listed their Top 10 checkouts of all time. This 1962 book is one of the most circulated books at the NYPL in every neighborhood it serves. It was my favorite when I was a kid and I always recommend it to friends when they start building libraries for their kids.

Classes are cancelled due to snow and hazardous driving conditions. Got books to read and chores to do.
‘The Caldecott-winning tale of a young boy‘s encounter with snow has been checked out 485,583 times from the NYPL since it was published in 1962.‘ As a child this book was a revelation for me — not just because it‘s about a little black boy, but because it‘s about snow. It snowed exactly once in the town I grew up in, all of .01” After living 25 years in the desert I now live where I can enjoy all 4 seasons, including snow in the winter.
Jane Mounts created this for the top 10 books checked out in the last 125 years at the NYPL.
So cool!
