November's Fury
November's Fury: The Deadly Great Lakes Hurricane of 1913 | Michael Schumacher
10 posts | 2 to read
The ultimate story of man versus nature, November's Fury recounts the dramatic events that unfolded over four days in 1913 when a freshwater hurricane of epic proportions became the deadliest in Great Lakes maritime history. Michael Schumacher brings this violent storm to terrifying life, from its first stirrings through its slow-mounting destructive fury to its profound aftereffects, many still felt today.

Here is my reading stats from the Storygraph app. I read 4 books. I was doing really well and I was able to focus on reading and then after my grandma passed away on Nov 20, I fell into a reading slump so I‘ve decided to throw out my reading goals and not make a TBR for Dec. I like having goals to work towards but I‘m too hard on myself sometimes and I don‘t want to force myself to read when I don‘t feel like I can focus on reading any books.

megnews Reading has always been my solace but after my Gran died in 2010 I had a year long reading slump. Be gentle with yourself. 2mo
Chrissyreadit I‘m sorry, grief is hard and takes time. 2mo

Here‘s my reading wrap-up for November. After I finished The Wedding Game by Meghan Quinn, I started Every Last Secret by A.R. Torre and I liked what I read but I haven‘t gotten past the first 2 chapters because that‘s when I felt like I was falling into a reading slump. My grandma passed away on Nov 20. I‘ve been feeling sad and I don‘t feel like I can focus on reading anything right now so I‘ve decided not to make a TBR for December.

Kind of amazingly, I met my goals for #NovelNovember - I kept up with buddy reads, and I read 4 of the possible 5 on my list, plus another book and started a sixth! Maybe I can keep up the reading momentum with kiddo‘s lessons being light for the holiday this week 🤞🏻. Thanks to @Andrew65 for another great reading boost.

Ruthiella Excellent! 👏👏👏 2mo

Today, I‘m sharing my November TBR. I‘m carrying over a lot of books from Sept and Oct. I started The Cruelty in Oct and I will finish it this month. Hopefully, I will read all of these books so I won‘t have to carry them over to Dec. 🤞

Books I‘m carrying over from Sept are: Every Last Secret, The Cruelty, The Wedding Game

Books I‘m carrying over from Oct are: My Best Friend‘s Exorcism, The Female Brain, The Grand Hotel, Norse Mythology

Almost forgot to post my #bookspinbingo list! Things have been a little crazy on my end 😅 anyway, here it is. All library books and after this I‘m going on a library ban for a little while to focus on my own piles of neglected books 😅 we‘ll see how I do this month since it‘s also Nanowrimo...#bookspin @TheAromaofBooks

#BookSpin for November! I decided to try bullet journaling again. I really miss writing with a pen since so much of my notes seems to be typed in a phone these days.

ravenlee Cranberry Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holiday books! It was out of print for so long, I was ecstatic when I saw it had been rereleased! 3mo
sblbooks @megnews They both have good reviews so I'm looking forward to it. Do you ever watch YouTube videos? I wanted to read The Sun Does Shine after listening to Krista's at Books and Jams review it. 3mo
sblbooks @ravenlee Oh, that's good to know. I might have to order the hardcover, instead of just ordering the ebook. 3mo

New list for November Book Spin/Double Spin. In the spirit of 🍂Nonfiction November🍂 (that‘s a thing, right?!), these are all nonfiction/memoir/essays. We‘ll see how this unfolds…🧡

JenReadsAlot My list is all nonfiction as well! 3mo
JackOBotts @JenReadsAlot 🙌🏼 Good luck! I don‘t read a lot of NF so this will be a good adventure! 3mo

Here's how November shook out! It got away from me fast. Early November was so wild, with the election. But i read both my bookspin and double spin books and even got a bingo! @TheAromaofBooks
