Maybe I'm the wrong demographic for this, but all the puns really drew me out of the story and had me practically pulling teeth just to read it. I gave up around page 144 when our legal eagle-nest reached Boghorts...

Yes, this book was silly but it was also a lot of fun. I really loved this series. This is the 3rd and I think final book of the trilogy.
I would definitely recommend this series. The first book is Kill the Farm Boy.
#AwesomeApril - Most likely the last book I‘ll get done for this readathon
I can‘t even with this book right now 🤦♀️🤣
This chapter is so punny. They are sailing the Myn Seas and drop chocolate in the water to calm the sea monster. When the sea monster attacks they shoot tampoons at them. 🤦♀️🤦♀️
It took me to the end of the chapter to get it.
This series just got progressively worse as it went on. The jokes were so cringy this go around and I didn‘t like any of the characters. The actual plot was boring and highly annoying. The only good thing would be how pretty The covers are and the witty titles.
A great way to (kind of?) end the "trilogy" but still leave room for other novels if need be. A great way to kind of trick people into seeing some good points of social justice issues all while having a great laugh. This book was fun and pokes fun at Harry Potter and priates. It is great.
Since I wasn't able to focus on my previous book for whatever reason I decided to give this one a go. So far I'm really enjoying it. I wanted something simple, but funny. This book is very funny so far. I've never heard of this series. If it remains being good I might check out the rest of the series. It's kind of like if Terry Pratchett and Christopher Moore wrote a book together.
I imagine Tybalt in Animal Crossing would be best friends with Vic, the swole and misogynistic centaur from The Princess Beard. #animalcrossing #theprincessbeard #thetalesofpell
It it silly? Yes. Is it childish? Yes! Are some of the jokes really stupid? Yeah
But the rest are funny. It is hilarious and takes on all tropes it can find. Also - tea magic.
The first one tried too much to be Terry Pratchett, but I think they have found a balance here.
Only recommended if you like really bad puns, though
Hilarious and ridiculous! So many people on GR complained this was over the top, but that was kinda the point lol Not as strong as the first one, but I enjoyed Vic 😅 and am always a sucker for puns and euphemisms.
I had a rough day, so I stopped off at the library on my way home from work. This one caught my eye while i was leaving with my stack of books. I had to turn around and snag it. Here‘s hoping it‘s as funny as everyone claims! And just in case anyone else needs a pick me up; here‘s a picture of my sleeping dog. 😂 It always gets me.
This one hit me right in my punny bone. Over and over and I loved every minute! One of my top reads of 2019 for sure- highly recommend for a quick pick me up, get out of the winter blues type of book. Full review at scrappymags.com
A gem. For those who love fantasy creatures, puns, insider jokes, D&D, fairytales, or quests.
This one was good but I thought the first 2 were better. I hit a slump after they did a little Harry Potter spoof and it took me some time to get back into it. Some may find that the best part of the book but I think I just expected more originality from them? Harry Potter spoofs seem a little overdone at this point. But it picked up after that and I ended up enjoying the 2nd half more than the first.
Did an event with the authors of tagged book tonight and had so much fun! We also did a giveaway of two severed arms signed by Chuck Palahniuk (he sent several to our store, so I have one too!). #scarathalon @Clwojick #TeamSlaughter
Finally got the tagged pre-ordered book!
And @phatsallylee look what finally arrived from the east coast! I‘ll get started on The Immortalists tonight so I can get it back to @BookwormAHN
This has been an awesome round of #lmpbc! Thanks #groupP! @Laughterhp

I didn't connect with this one as much as I did those before, ditto for any of the characters. But I expect that my experience isn't typical—The Princess Beard will resonate with some more than the others did. Either way, the reader will enjoy the ride. It's exciting, it's affirming, it's a hoot. I'm going to miss Pell, and hope the authors decide to dip their collective toes back into it from time to time in the future. https://wp.me/p3z9AH-4kz
