This was a short, light-hearted read for the season. It was fun for a change of pace from the more serious and gruesome stuff I‘ve been reading. However, I don‘t think I‘ll revisit this the way that I will Pumpkin Heads. 3/5

This graphic novel was adorable. It definitely captured the woes of a middle schooler. I loved the characters, they were super relatable. AJ thinks he's too boring to talk to his crush, who is smart and funny and obsessed with vampires. So he decides to pretend to be a vampire to get her attention. Hijinks ensue 🧛🏻

Middle school is tough. AJ is determined not to be the book nerd this year. He really likes a girl, and he will change himself to be what she desires: a Vampire. He darkens his eyes, looks tired, and uses fake blood to give the perfect effect. Too bad it works too well. This book was so much fun. It was about a kid trying to stand out so he could fit in. It was full of fun adventure, wacky friends, and crazy experiences.

This was awesome! It was funny, sweet, romantic, and filled with friendships and sibling bonds that melted my heart.

As fall and Halloween draw closer, I‘ve been thinking of the books I want to read to help get into my favorite season and holiday. These are just a few of the books I hope to read by Halloween. The cardigan I bought a couple years ago from ModCloth. The necklace I actually made. It‘s my first attempt at making a necklace and I‘m beyond pleased with how it turned out. I read this with my niece and we both enjoyed it. It's a tale about friendship and vampires. 🩸

There was no actual harming of a vampire in this book. Although it wouldn't have been a bad thing :) Excellent book and story! Graphics were okay (it's the weird noses!!). Our story is based off of three friends, the poor sulky boy who loves to read likes this girl who is into vampires. So why doesn't he pretend he is a vampire!?!?! Well you know what happens when someone pretends to be someone they are not, adventures and chaos ensues! 4 stars

My 11 year old son raced thru this in one sitting last night (thank the Gods for libraries) and then for the first time ever insisted I read it too!

I read the first chapter and I can see why he liked it. Great art and full of 6th grader angst. 😜

Sixth grade is hard enough when you‘re the “boring” member in a trio of friends. It‘s even worse when you like a girl & can‘t work up the courage to talk to her. AJ‘s hopes for a great 6th grade are quickly fading when he discovers the girl he likes is into vampires. So what does he do? He turns himself into a vampire only things don‘t go according to plan. And, as it turns out, he might not be the only “monster” in town. A quick, fun MG/YA read.
