Every Day
Every Day | David Levithan
In his New York Times bestselling novel, David Levithan introduces readers to what Entertainment Weekly calls a "wise, wildly unique" love story about A, a teen who wakes up every morning in a different body, living a different life.Every day a different body. Every day a different life. Every day in love with the same girl. Theres never any warning about where it will be or who it will be. A has made peace with that, even established guidelines by which to live: Never get too attached. Avoid being noticed. Do not interfere. Its all fine until the morning that A wakes up in the body of Justin and meets Justins girlfriend, Rhiannon. From that moment, the rules by which A has been living no longer apply. Because finally A has found someone he wants to be withday in, day out, day after day. With his new novel, David Levithan, bestselling co-author of Will Grayson, Will Grayson, and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, has pushed himself to new creative heights. He has written a captivating story that will fascinate readers as they begin to comprehend the complexities of life and love in As world, as A and Rhiannon seek to discover if you can truly love someone who is destined to change every day.

Am I supposed to like A? Because I find them stalkery, selfish and demanding. I think Rhiannon should get rid of both her beaux and find someone less self absorbed.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wake up in a different body every day with nowhere to call home and nobody to call family? Welcome to A‘s life.

What if every day you woke up in a new body with a new life?

This was such an interesting concept to me... imagine never actually having a family and just taking on the life of someone different every day. That is exactly what happens in this book.

Things change after our main character “A” falls in love with a girl who he wants to see even after changing bodies again the following days.

Very unique idea. Worth reading!

nelehelen This reminds me of a Korean movie called “The Beauty Inside”.. it‘s on Netflix. I recommend! I enjoyed it and it has the same premise of this book but with a romantic spin on it. 9mo
KristenDuck @nelehelen this definitely has the romantic side to it as well. I will look for that movie! 9mo

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — So I really just read this in one day! An extremely quick read, but mainly because of the fact that it kept me so hooked! Love the many short stories of so many different lives all through the eyes of one‘s perspective. The #polarvortex might‘ve also played a part in the all-day reading experience 🥶❄️ #day30

Super interesting concept and a pretty quick read. I have always loved David Levithan and how the perspective he takes. This book has led to some great conversations about gender, love, and what it feels like to disassociate.

This was a very cool concept. "A" is a different person every day, a new body, a new life. This book was missing the explanation of why and how. I couldn't concertrate on the story because I was focusing on the physics.

GypsyKat That would bug me, too. I like things explained, at least a little bit. 11mo

I definitely found this book to be very interesting. It really dug into the concept of love and happiness and how we find love in so many ways. I really liked the risks that he author took in this book and the unique storyline. But, I definitely needed more of an explanation! It was a super cool idea, but I just wanted more on the sci fi elements.

bullbunny The cover to me is so weird.. it's like a photo copy of the actual cover. Every time I am like wait what? 11mo
Victoriahoperose @bullbunny yes!! And the thing is it is so similar to what I think of for The Leftovers by Tom Perotta and the concept is so different. Definitely not a book you can judge by the cover lol! 11mo

The main character in this book wakes up in a different body every day. That concept makes the book fascinating! However, I wish more was done with it. There is so much representation that it starts feeling like the theme is more important than the story. The fat body day irked me though. The author simply promoted that fat equals lazy and unattractive. Overall, interesting read!

Was in Colorado for the weekend and it rained a lot, which means I finished 3 books!

I loved the premise of the story. Waking up in a different body everyday for your entire life is unfathomable to me. A always ends up in a body the same age as they are but the bodies vary widely from boy, girl, gay, straight, athletic, popular, suicidal, addict, etc. Then A falls in love with Rhiannon and things get really crazy.

Has anyone else read this? What did you think? I hated most of it I cant decide if it's worth continuing the series or not.

WriterAtHeart I personally liked the book as a whole because I found the premise intriguing, but not enough to read the rest of the books (or see the movie). That may also be because I like the author and have a slightly obscured view. 😊 1y

This book manages the impossible- making a simple love story feel fresh and unique. Every day our main character wakes up in a new body and has to adjust. As a result, every chapter is like it‘s own story, yet there is an ongoing storyline throughout. What I liked best about this book though is how it explores love in its purest form. Could you love someone no matter their gender or appearance? Every Day explores this with honesty and heart.

A is a spirit who wakes up in a new body everyday. One day he wakes up in the body of Justin who has a girlfriend named Rhiannon. A spends of the day with Rhiannon and when he wake up the next day in a new body he can't stop thinking about her. A has fallen in love with her. He eventually mets with her and tell her the teach about them. I didn't love this book. But I also didn't hate it. Very interested to see the movie.

This is a tough one for me to review; it‘s somewhere between pick and so-so. I really wasn‘t sure about it until I hit the halfway point. It was then that I really started to get into the story of A. A is an incredibly insightful character and I was invested in his life (lives?). There were a few things that could have maybe been flushed out more for my liking, but ultimately I enjoyed the story and the way it wrapped up.

It's alright. Consuming through Audiobook might've had a big hand in this rating but the (audio)book didn't really have me glued to the Kindle. It's was alright. What I did like about it was the variety of the people A inhabited. It dealt - lightly - with body image, sexuality, gender roles, depression, etc etc. and that was nice. But over-all it was a solid so-so for me.
