I thought of this book I reviewed for a book tour in 2018 because one of the 2 MCs, Delilah, is a black woman who faced racism & prejudice from a bi-racial marriage in the 1960s & an abusive spouse. Told in flashbacks & in present, Delilah is now. helping & sheltering other women with abusive relationships-like Tracey, running with her children from her abusive husband. pickI got caught up in this novel-set in the past & present-about friendship & a brave woman helping other women. There's mystery, historical fiction & romance too. Hits on tough issues-domestic violence, racism & bigotry & some aspects were predictable, but that didn't spoil the beauty of the story for me.
