This is the fourth book in the Charlie Parker series and it's just as brilliant, dark, and gritty as the first three books. Familiar characters, both good and bad, are mixed in as Charlie tries to help free an innocent man accused of murder.

Great book in an even greater series!

Cheesy Christmas trees and port accompanied me finishing another brilliant story by john connolly as Charlie Parker crosses swords again with the nasty villain reverand faulkner and a host of seriously vicious racists im southern carolina. With the fourth in the series i am totally addicted to the writing, plotting and characters and i don't think id have picked them up without litsy.

This took me a lot longer to finish than it should have!! Had to finish on my phone due to the death of the kindle. RIP I know I definitely don‘t want to be reading on my phone again.
Anyway - another great book in the Charlie Parker series. You never quite guess what‘s going on until he starts to bring it altogether.

Addison_Reads Great review. 👏 I'm a huge fan of this series! I found this one at a thrift store for $2 recently and instantly bought it, but I haven't read it yet. I need to move it up on my TBR pile. 6y

TrishB @Addison_Reads it‘s a series that‘s a #blameitonlitsy for me! I‘m slowly working my way through it now. I‘ve done 1-4 and have 6,7, 9 and 14! Which have either been gifted or bargains/charity shops! I guess I better buy 5 soon! 6y

Addison_Reads @TrishB I've read 5, The Black Angel, but not 4 yet. 5 is actually one of my favorites. It has a religious element added that makes it extra dark and twisty. 6y

#currentread My kindle died at the hairdressers today!! I had to carry on reading on my phone 😱 didn‘t like that. I generally use it whilst travelling and for the hairdressers 😁

Moray_Reads My Voyage feels like it's coming to the end of its life but I think I'll replace it with Paperwhite, they seem to have caught up with the Voyage in terms of quality but are still cheaper and add much as I love my Kindle I can't bring myself to pay the price of the Oasis! 6y

AceOnRoam I think the paperwhite with backlight for night/insomnia but I heard today there is a waterproof one. If that model also has the backlit screen, then that would probably be better value for money? Also, paperwhite iterally doesn't weigh anything so no sore wrists? Personally I use my Samsung TabS for reading and Litsying at the same time. 6y

Melissa_J I have a Paperwhite and don‘t mind it. My favourite is my Kobo Aura One. I can download books direct from the library via Overdrive, adjust the lighting at night to a more orange-y colour that is why easier on my eyes than my Kindle‘s lighting, and the screen size is bigger. 6y

Balibee146 Rip faithful old Kindle.... That's the same one I've got (I use my Kindle Fire a lot too though, so my 4th Gen old eReader still going strong). I quite like reading on my phone once I got used to it....interested in the recs above 👍 6y

TNbookworm I have a Kindle Fire and I really like it. But it is the first e-reader I have ever had so I'm probably not the best person to recommend something☺ 6y
