Characters were a bit hard to relate to: they were only 15 and still did all these things. I also would have loved to feel something when one of the secondary characters died but the character wasn't fleshed out enough to make me do that.

I still liked this dystopian world but it didn't give so much new - new things would have made this even more intriguing read.

I picked up this book because i read its predecessor, Legend. Because Legend was such a great book, i have incredibly high expectations for this book. I hope to meet some new exciting characters and the old characters. I wonder whats going to happen to Day and June as the venture out by themselves. I am really excited to start reading this novel.

I‘m willing to suspend my disbelief for a lot of things— for example, a fighter jet battle between a group of teens and a task force of experienced pilots. BUT A CAPITALISM BACKED POLICE FORCE? COME ON, IN WHAT WORLD? Oh wait—

This is a series I‘ve read before, but the life in this book will always put a smile in my face. I‘m not the biggest fan of most of Marie Lu‘s books, even though they are good, but these ones will always hold a special place in my heart. Each time I read this one in particular I feel as though I start to understand June a little bit more. She comes to life and no longer feels overshadowed by Day. I‘m glad to be on this beautiful journey again!

The second book in the Legend series lives up to its predecessor. Day and June are back with more action and political intrigue. There‘s a marked improvement on characterization and world building, and that ending!! That was a punch in the gut. 💔

This one was waaay better than the first one! The characters are still naive but they are 15. This one has a lot more action and twists and turns that I love! And the gut rentching twist at the end! I am definitely more invested in this series now. 1 thing tho, 1 main character having a love triangle between a girl who he calls his sister, and the other one kiss someone way older than her when she is 15.. that's not it sis.

A phenomenal story of patriotism. A much appreciated limit on romance (no offence to romance lovers) and definitely a better version of divergent ( again no offence to divergent fan). A beautiful concept of love for ones country despite all flaws. And above all an exceptional example that despite history we can change.
Definitely a must read on my list.

Good. Not as good as Book 1 - but that tends to happen in trilogies (for me) as it feels like a suspension bridge to the climactic Book 3. I really like Lu‘s style altho June is beginning to grate on me and borders on a Mary Sue type YA lead. So many hanging threads left to resolve - looking forward to it.

I‘m keen to finish this series before totally moving on to my next #NewToMe author (probably won‘t happen tho). I love a good dystopia map. If I were living in the Legend universe, pretty sure I‘d be underwater right now bc NYC is... 😱 🌊

This started off a little slowly or maybe life was just a little too busy. Either way it was another good read from Lu. I‘m curious about where the story goes next. I‘m ready for book 3.

🎧 A Legend novel, book two. Nice to know that boys are filled with angst and self-doubt also. Not. 🙄 It‘s the one annoying thing about YA. Not a good look on either gender. That said. I loved the book!! Tess is right about June & Day. This love at first sight. Stupid but I forgave it as the book was fun & comes with a lesson. Yes I could do without a YA lesson but it was in line with the storyline. Looking forward to Champion! 👍🏼 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️3/8

Yet another sci-fi 😂 This is also a sequel and a well done one. It takes place in post apocalyptic America. After floods decimated the east coast, the west seceded to become the Republic of America and the east was called the Colonies. Though it‘s too bad she didn‘t have the guts to put in a plausible reason for floods (cough global warming), it‘s pretty cool seeing communism right up against excess capitalism. I love the characters too!

I finished “Prodigy” on my plane ride home. I am in love with this book. It‘s characters are raw and genuine. You love them for their faults. The author made them human with real human thoughts, as twisted as they are.

This book hit me right in the FEELS. I can't say much without spoiling, but I can say I know Marie Lu is going to be my new heartbreaker. The story was so rich with action, suspense, and romance that was all evenly paced. It was so fresh from the typical dystopian I've read (as was the first one!) DEFINITELY READ IT!!! 💕😭😱

The addictive quality of this trilogy picks up in book 2. It was clear there was a conspiracy happening somewhere but puzzling to figure out who the characters could trust and who they couldn‘t. The setting was perhaps the most intriguing: 2052, I think, and the polar ice caps have melted, causing the land mass of the world to shrink and different countries to become powerhouses. Fascinating to see Africa and Antarctica so powerful and advanced.

Another heart wrenchingly cheesy romance enveloped in an action packed dystopian world. The book went in all kids of ways unexpected - and I couldn't totally tell what would happen next (which is great!). I'm still crying over the loss of Kaede - one of the most badass fighter pilots I've ever read about - and of course the separation of the Republic's two favs. I have a feeling I know what will happen in the next... 😭😭 #prodigy #legendtrilogy

I'd read this book does more in the way of world-building and answering questions than the first, and that's true. It did feel a bit draggy at first, but overall Lu is excellent at pacing the story so that it feels continually in motion even when not. I'm still partial to the characters, but mostly I found this an interesting middle book because the end makes me curious as to where the third book will go. I guess I'll have to pick it up and see!

Somehow this sequel was boring and slow, even dragged out - too much of unnecessary details.
The plot was predictable.
Romance was a mess, but love square situation was pretty catchy.
I think I might have liked this book more if I had read it a few years earlier.

Prodigy was certainly entertaining, fast-paced, and exciting, but I think the author got some of the relationships mixed up! (AND the protagonist's supposed ages still don't work for me very well...)
