I want to like this book, as the writing is quite good. However, the author too freely falls into hyperbole, cherry picks to reach the conclusions she wants and presents some dangerous inaccuracies as medical fact. That‘s just not good.

Two essays here discuss #Cambodia, so I‘m using this for #ReadingAsia2021. It‘s also my #doublespin.

Librarybelle Yikes! At least it covered a couple of challenges. 3y
TheAromaofBooks Great progress!! 3y

1. Every week, usually.
2. Hm, the pictured one is Trinity College I think. That looks cool. Tons of just flat out gorgeous ones in France.
3. Tagged book, Black Panther: Long Live the King, My Favorite Thing Is Monsters 2
4. Not sure, maybe 10? Younger?

GarthRanzz It is indeed Trinity! I think if I ever got to visit they‘d never get me out! 6y

JaclynW @UnidragonFrag @GarthRanzz I've been to the pictured library at Trinity College several times and it takes my breath away each time. 😍😍😍 I wish they would let me look at/touch the books! I wonder what I'd find... 🤔😊 Marsh's Library is a hidden gem in Dublin that is well worth the visit too. 6y
night_shift @BiblioLitten I was just scrolling through pictures yesterday like 😮😍 6y
night_shift @JaclynW oh! Lucky! But that sucks you can't look at/touch anything 😞 I've just googled the one you mentioned and wow! It's like a quaint, stuffed bookstore but with super old books. It's near a church, is it s part of that church? 6y

I have pretty #mixed feelings. The author has an amazing unique perspective and writes on a wide array of topics. I find her insight and personal experience with autoimmunity especially fascinating. But as an immunologist, I find some of her takes on the subject off-base. My favorite aspect was the illustrations by Xander Marro.

starlight97 You're an immunologist? How awesome 😍 6y

It's a weird cover but an awesome one. #riotgrams

slategreyskies The cover reminds me of one of Frida Kahlo's paintings. 7y

Thoughtful, sharp, painful, brilliant, refreshing, candid. I really enjoyed this.

UrsulaMonarch Thanks for mentioning this one - I wouldn't have come across it otherwise! 7y
