CSeydel When I volunteered serving lunch at my kids‘ middle school there was a student named Dylan Thomas. Every time she came through the line I restrained myself from exclaiming, “Rage, rage against the dying of the light!” 5mo
dabbe @CSeydel 🤣🤣🤣 I had a student named Stella, and it was all I could do not to scream her name like Marlon Brando in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE. 😃 5mo

It took me forever to finish this but it was really good! Just not the kind of book you read in one sitting... but oh my, what a poet!! Brilliant. Even the short stories were very poetic (but at times a bit uninteresting...).
Alltogether I‘d give it 4/5⭐️ (poems are 5/5, stories and broadcasts are 3/5)

what is everyone reading this weekend? 😊☀️ I think it is safe to say that spring has finally arrived here, so I can read in the sun😍 I should read University Texts but Dylan Thomas‘ broadcasts are much more interesting🙈

It‘s only 10 am and I‘m already looking foward to leaving work so I can get back to my book. I‘ve started with the short stories in it recently and am in love with the beautiful language. I‘m quite certain that I will finish the book this week 😊

Kalalalatja I know the feeling. I just want to go home from uni and read, but I have a meeting with my thesis supervisor this afternoon, so I have to stay 👎 6y
ju.ca.no @Kalalalatja life has a way to always get in the way of our reading😅😂 6y
ju.ca.no @Kalalalatja how is your thesis coming along? Is the end already in sight?😊 6y
Kalalalatja Haha not even close 😅 but it is going really well at the moment, and I‘m keeping my motivation up, so far at least 👍 6y
ju.ca.no @Kalalalatja that sounds great😊 just hang in there🙌🏼 6y

„..., some years before I knew I was happy,...“ -what a way to open a story! I think this sums life up, at least for me- it sometimes takes a while until we notice that happiness lies within ourselves 🧡💜

This is my favorite poem. Ever. I‘m pretty sure this month‘s #Quotsy themes are supposed to be lighter than some of my choices have been. I mean, who interprets #light to mean a poem about dying? Me, I guess. This doesn‘t bode well for my holidays. #QuotsyDec17 #LitsyQuoteChallenge

TK-421 I've always loved this poem ❤️ 6y
TK-421 And there are no wrong interpretations--light, dark, funny, serious--it's all good. I mean, my quote for flight was a bit dark. Sometimes, I find that the dark stuff moves me more than the lighter, inspirational stuff. I hope that your holidays are filled with warmth & brightness to push back the darkness 6y
jpmcwisemorgan @TK-421 My holidays will probably get brighter because I‘m spending them with friends. The last year has been bumpy. 6y

I really love the poems by Dylan Thomas so very much ♥️ I can highly recommend reading him to every lover of poetry😊

Updrifting The older I get, the more poetry I need in my life. It's kind of like Nietzsche said: "We have art in order to not die from the truth." ? 6y
ju.ca.no @Updrifting beautiful and true words 😊 what poets do you love reading? 6y
Updrifting @ju.ca.no ju.caI like many of Emily Dickenson's, also Robert Frost and Maya Angelou. I'll confess to mostly cheating on this front, tho, since I often just pick up my anthology of "Good Poems" by Garrison Keillor and let his choices direct my attention! Do you have favorites? 6y
ju.ca.no @Updrifting ah sounds like I need to check out that anthology 😊 I havn‘t read much poetry lately (unfortunately), but besides Dylan Thomas I was always very fond of Sylvia Plath‘s poems 😊 6y

"At poor peace I sing to you, stangers, (though song is a burning and crested act, the fire of birds in the world's turning wood, for my sawn, splay sounds), out of these seathumbed leaves that will fly and fall" - havn't even compleated the first poem and am already deeply in love with this book! So beautiful?
