Celebrating #NationalPoetryMonth right before it ends. Edna St. Vincent Millay has been my favorite poet since high school, so I am throughly enjoying her biography (with blueberry muffins, in honor of her New England childhood)

Had to share this one for NPM. It's from Palavora (Dialogos Books, 2019).

Poems of Edward Thomas | Edward Thomas

In my current audio book, The Old Ways by Robert Macfarlane, the author references the poet Edward Thomas as one of his greatest influences in nature walking and poetry. Yesterday I was at Half Price Books and found this copy of Thomas‘ poems! 💕Book serendipity💕 #poetry #edwardthomas #nationalpoetrymonth

Lindy I love book synchronicity. 😊 3mo
SharonGoforth @lindy Yes, synchronicity is the better word. 😊 3mo
Lindy @SharonGoforth I think it could be both: an unexpected happy outcome, and a meaningful coincidence. 3mo
SharonGoforth @lindy Absolutely!! It was certainly both ☺️. 3mo

April 18, is Poem in Your Pocket Day! Do you have a poem ready for your pocket?

I think I‘ll be using Emily Dickinson‘s I‘m Nobody! Who Are You?, which I memorized in fourth grade courtesy of the tagged book. But, I dunno, maybe I‘ll wear as many pockets as possible and stuff them all! #nationalpoetrymonth #childrenslibrarianlife #poetry

“Honeyed wood with one eye widening the grain/just above my migratory pen./I love this unconscious solitude—

the way Whole afternoons belong to the cicada/calling down to her cousins/in yellow Mexico.”
