I'm on a magical realism, witchy and food kick lately with reading. I had to put my current book down for this one lol

Here are 4 books with 'wish' in the title--two that I've read & enjoyed: As You Wish ??? & The Things We Wish Were True) & two (the tagged book & The Secrets of Wishtide) that are in my #TBR stacks.???
pickThis is the most summery book I've read all summer, in fact, the heat in North Carolina is practically a character. I don't read a lot of magical realism but every time I do I enjoy it. (Note to self) I loved Nowhere, I angsted with Rachel, I swooned over Ashe, and I spent 280 pages wishing I had a Catch in my life. And at the end I was left wanting more all while being pleased this is a one off.

so-soI like the first two-thirds of this book. I enjoyed the writing ... unfortunately the ending just didn't stand up to the start.
I am unsettled ... I have started this book, I am 50 pages into the Handmaid's tale, and a few poems into Night Sky with Exit Wounds... I am just jumping around from book to book... time to get up and do housework for awhile.
Such a sweet book! It was an easy and enjoyable read.
