Interweaving narratives centering around a boarding house in south London.1938 -1940. The characters simultaneously avoid each other yet get caught up in each others lives. Themes of city life, class consciousness, war, murder, fear and survival. Loved it.

My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 star reads this year. A mix of classics A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, London Belongs to me and 84 Charing Cross Rd, important subjects like the environment in Wilding and The Overstory and just great stories with A Gentleman in Moscow, A Column of Fire, Lanny, Hares Fur, topped off with great Aussie crime in The Lost Man. Hard to pick the best..they are all winners😍

Wonderful book! The story of the residents of 10 Dulcimer Street, London leading up to WW11. Ordinary lives, trials and tribulations, relationships told in wonderful detail. My only complaint is when I got to the last page... it was missing!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A day of rest on the ship after a pretty hectic but amazing travel schedule. For me a day at sea means a chance to read my book ....London Belongs to Me, which I am loving right from the first page! I might squeeze in a cocktail too😂🤗

#24B4Monday helped me finish this book!I can see why Collins wanted to write this love letter to pre WWII London.It‘s a story of ordinary people just trying to live their lives.The widow , Mrs Vizzard, turns her home into a boarding house, & with that, created a different kind of family. The subtle humor of working class life, the fears & the challenges is a look into a world that would be changed dramatically post WWII. #chunkster

#marchintoThe70s #LondonCalling One of the times I ordered from Book Depository, I picked out this title,still on the TBR.A slice of London life in 1938, maybe it‘s time to read it .As to the Clash , love them! While they were selling out major stadiums in the UK , here in the southwest, saw them in a venue about the size of a high school gym . Unforgettable!

Here's another mini #BookHaul from Tate Proper aka Tate Britain. Also bought about 2 dozen post cards so I could take some of the art home with me 😊👌🏻
